Jetty Park Access/Pictures From There?

I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Vacations next to Jetty Park before our next cruise. Would like to watch the Dream sail in the morning before. Don't want to drive over to park (might not even be open yet). Does anyone know if I could just walk up the beach to get to the pier and watch it sail by? Anything blocking someone from doing so?

Thanks

I think you can. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Vacation Club there the last two times (3rd time in 21 days!) and we always go down to the beach access they have. We have not even ventured down further towards Jetty Park and have watched the Dream set sail and it looks like it is so close! It reminds me of the pirate ship that comes out from the rocks in the Goonies movie. i don't think you will have any trouble walking down the beach to watch it sail in.

yes you can walk down the beach to get to Jetty Park. You cannot drive into the park without paying the fee though.

Thanks, will probably walk down and snap a couple of pics, then drive down and watch her dock.

How do you like the Holiday Inn Vacations? Usually stay at the Residence Inn, changing it up a little this trip.

We have really enjoyed it previously. Word of caution the restaurant is notoriously slow but we have a rental car so we just go out to eat. I am a little nervous right now because they have an alert on their website that the lazy river and waterslide are closed until May 14 due to renovations. If that gets delayed I am going to change to a beachfront condo we found further down Cocoa Beach. We have found the staff to be overall pretty friendly and not had much force with the sales pitches but keep in mind it is a timeshare until so they will ask to if you are interested to attend a session. Also, they are stingy with towels and there is no daily cleaning. If you go in knowing that I think you will be ok. A lot of the negative reviews I see comment on that which just tells me they didn't do their research.

Thanks, we are only staying on night before the cruise. Will have rental car and probably eat down by the ships for sail away time the night before our cruise. Hope they have the lazy river ready for you.

Anybody have any pic's of Disney Ship's from Jetty Park sailing in or out?

There is a public boat ramp across the street from the Holiday Inn/next to Jetty Park. No charge to enter. Rest rooms available. Nice view of the ship.
This is from the boat ramp facing the back side of Jetty Park.

The ships usually arrive at Port Canaveral very early am.

How do you like the Residence Inn? We will be staying there for the first time in June. How is the laundry facility - there is one, right? LOL We will need to do a load or two since we are driving in from Texas

Yes, usually between 5-5:30am, have watched them several times. Is is kinda surreal when they come down the channel. They are dead quiet and barely moving, a few cast members and a few guest up on deck, waiving down when they see someone.

The Residence Inn is very nice, good hot breakfast to get you ready for all the food you will soon start eating on board. Have never done laundry there, the two bedrooms I believe have a washer/dryer in them. There is also a "race track" gas station next to it. Good place to pick up a little wine/beer for the ship.

Hi, we sailed on the Fantasy this past Feb and stayed at the Residence Inn for 2 nights post cruise. Nice hotel with large rooms and kitchen. Pool was nice and I think they have poolside bar/reception some nights of the week. When we were there they were a lot of cruisers getting ready to leave for the Port. We also went to Jetty Park to watch the ships leave, was fun! They have a good snack bar run by Fishlips restaurant. They sell beer as well.
