I have never flown Jet blue, maybe someone can help.

When you buy your ticket, can you pick your seats out at that time?

Can you pick any seat you want?

Can you do the boarding passes online before you go to the airport?

What is the actual boarding like, do they board by row number or zone, like Song?

Thank you.

Yes.

No. The first three rows and the exit rows can only be assigned at the airport. Pick a seat behind Row 11, because they have an extra 2" of legroom.

Yes.

By row.

Welcome to the Jet Blue family! It's the BEST airline around - best service, best staff, best snacks (LOVE THE BLUE CHIPS!). Plus, there is no first class/economy BS, everyone sits in the same section with great legroom all around.

Love the blue!

Hi NewEnglandDisney, I have a question about Jet Blue. I must be messing up somehow. I was delighted to hear that they will be flying out of Newark, NJ. But when I went to their site to plug in dates and get prices, I was given over and over again two separate prices for going down and then coming back which I had to add together. The prices were not great. I got this even though I checked round trip. What are the prices usually like? thanks

When you do pricing on JetBlue and Song, they give you prices for each leg of the trip. Unlike the bigger airlines, you are not required to buy a round trip ticket (if you bought 1 way on Cont. or American, you'd probably pay a bundle). So you see from the pricing that some flights are cheaper than others and you can select the one that is best for you. When you click on the flights you like and continue, it will bring you to the screen where it calculates your round trip price.

Most of the airlines are having a price war now, with prices to FL in the $59/$69 one way range for travel bet. September and mid-December. However, I have tickets on Song out of LGA for 11/5-11/12 and when I checked both Continental and JetBlue out of Newark for new fares, to see if they were much cheaper with the decreases, my dates were not on sale and they were over 2 times what I'm paying. So I'm happy with what I have.

I'm hoping down the line, I will be able to take advantage of not having to go to LGA to get a decent fare. I don't think there is an average price for airfare at this time. Out of Newark recently, there really haven't been deals but you can find them due to the sale as listed above if your dates are there.

Good luck.

I have flown Jetblue and Song many times. I go to the airport get in line they check me in curbside. I get my boarding passes. I go through security, go to the gate and wait for my plane to start boarding. Am I supposed to print out a boarding pass? I have never done this. I just bring a copy of my reservation, the one I print out when I make the reservation, and give them my drivers liscence and that of my party.

:confused3 Am I doing something wrong???

Others have explained the mechanics of the pricing above, but I'll comment on the prices themselves.

I haven't looked out of Newark - remember, it's also brand new. These are like "first offer" prices - they are testing the market to an extent, I'd assume.

JetBlue also heavily depends on WHEN you go and when you book. I usually find the best prices around 60 days out - though sometimes (like right now) a special will come out after.

If you travel Weds - Weds, you can get rock bottom. When you start looking at Sat - Sat, it gets tougher. For Orlando specificly, early AM arrivals and PM departures (the prefered way to extend a vacation) are more expensive as well.

Jet Blue has gone up this past year - no doubt. But the deals are still there if you can be flexible in your days of departure. Use that handy "next day" "previous day" set of buttons to check out the surrounding days - you will find a great deal of difference and get a feel for how they price.

Personally, I prefer Jet Blue simply because I feel it's the most quality airline. The prices are what attracted me, and still do (if I could find a uber-cheap flight elsewhere I'd take it if it mean signifigant savings), but I love the no-"classes" thing, just all one big cabin, and I have found the employees to be about as magical as Disney CM's for the most part. Also, they make changing ressies a BREZZE. As long as you call at least an hour before departure (and pay the $25 change fee/$20 online) you get full credit for the flight. Moving flights also has been easy - they just are designed for efficency than anything else. I mean, look at JetBlue's website and look at any other website - JB doesn't have tons of snazzy pictures and slick advertising, but it's an effective system that is effiecent - much like the company itself.

Love the Jet Blue...LOVE IT!

Nope, that's how it works at Jet Blue.
