I'm thinking of booking our flight from Seattle > LGB on JetBlue. We've never flown with them before, and we are normally loyal Alaska Airlines customers.

Have you flown JetBlue and if so, what has been your experience? The reviews I've read online seem to be mostly quite positive. I really like the schedule in and out of LGB much better than what Alaska is offering at the moment, the price is right, and first checked bag is free. :goodvibes

Just curious what you all have experienced.

Thanks!

We :lovestruc Jet Blue and LGB - a great airline and easy airport, we'll probably never fly to DLR again *only maybe if it was a small group visiting *no more than 2* but I'd have no problem using that airline or airport any time.

We absolutely jetblue! We use them each time we fly back east. Never had a bad experience. :thumbsup2

I remember your Allegiant fiasco. The last time I flew to DLR I flew in with JetBlue and out with Allegiant. Night and day experiences. JetBlue was a very positive experience for me. And I thought that before I had Allegiant to compare it to. Much more professional. We didn't use the TVs but I was glad they were there. Just a nice overall flight experience in general...no complaints at all.

Hi FlameGirl,

I am from Seattle area too and am a LOYAL Alaska Air customer.

But, we love JetBlue! Great employees and their service cannot be beat. They have individual tv's at every seat and all the snacks you want for FREE!

It is a fun experience. I am pretty confident you will like the airline.

Kathy, let me know if you find any deals on JetBlue. I'm assuming you're looking for your Nov/Dec trip? We're looking at around that same time frame, and I have a JetBlue voucher to use.

Another JetBlue fan here. In fact, I always check for rates with JetBlue before any other airline because they are my number one favorite airline to fly with (followed closely by Southwest.) Great service, love the extra leg room, free first checked bag, etc. Just a great experience.

I love Jet Blue too. The seats are great and are roomier. I aslo love the TV and the snacks. I would recommend them to everyone.

You know, I started to go the Allegiant web site just to see what they were offering and then I broke out into hives. :lmao: I'm really leaning toward JebBlue and am kind of excited to try them out! Thanks!

Oh great, thanks! :)

Yes ma'am...we are looking at flying out on Thanksgiving morning. Right now, it's $121 each way. We can manage that. Your family is a little bit bigger than mine, but compared to the other airlines, this may be as good as it gets. If I see anything better than that, I'll definitely let you know. :)

Thanks everyone, for all of the replies. I think we're going to give them a shot! :goodvibes:goodvibes

We are flying JetBlue from Seattle to Long Beach in August! We have flown to NY on JetBlue and I love them! Given the choice between and Alaska and JetBlue, I'd pick JetBlue anytime! :)

Jet Blue is fine--I just hate flying into Long Beach. There is just no comparison to the ease of flying into SNA. I love the modern, clean look of SNA--and the simplicity of taking a taxi to DL.

We are lucky because Southwest has great rates (the gotta get away rates) from the bay area to SNA. I don't think I would take Jet Blue to Disneyland again just because of the whole Long Beach airport situation--but the airline itself is nice.

I actually agree with you...I'm not a huge Long Beach airport fan either. But, I'm not loving the prices or the schedules of Alaska into SNA, so I can suck it up. And to clarify...I don't mind flying into LGB, I just really hate flying out of there.

I love JetBlue and I also prefer to fly into Long Beach. JetBlue is nice and the TV's and snacks are a plus. There is no charge for the first bag. I just wish that JetBlue had more direct flights to places I want to go.

The only disadvantage for Long Beach is that they don't have the Disneyland Express shuttle service. Car rentals and getting cabs is a sinch--just get your bags and cross the street and you are right where you need to be. I like that the airport is small because it makes security and such go quickly, so you don't have to be there 3 hours before a flight.

I've never seen SNA but have no problem with LGB *very much prefer it to LAX!

Once you go SNA you never go back!

(ha--sorry I couldn't resist).

It is just very modern, clean, airy, effecient--and the closest to Disneyland. I hate LAX too, and avoid it like the plague. After flying into SNA for years I got a good rate on Jet Blue (it was actually very similar to the rates we get thru Southwest) and flew into LGB. It was hot, dirty portables--and they don't even have a connecting jetway. You have to get out of the plane outside and walk thru the jet exahust to make your way to the broken down portables. The baggage claim was much slower than SNA (which I don't blame the people there--if I had to work with that equipment I would be moving slow as well)--and getting a rental car out of there was excruciatingly slow. I am spoiled by SNA with it's modern convienences, I guess. Let's face it, I am persnickety! I am the first to admit that.

We love jet blue...and had no problems with LGB...last time we went down we had a car rental through priceline...we got off the plane, I went and got the car and my wife got the bags and we were off to the hotel in about 20 minutes....took about 35 minutes in traffic to get there.

We are going again in Oct...for 5 people we paid 1200...probably could have done better but I wanted a certain time of day for the flights so that we could arrive with some day ahead of us the first day.

We always drive to DL as its not worth flying because its only a 5 to 6 hour drive. But one year I wanted to leave a couple days before my husband could so I talked him into flying so the kids and I could extend our trip. He hated the idea because by time you get to the airport early, get your flight witch hopefully is not delayed and get bags at the other end its almost the same amount of time. Anyways, He went JetBlue for the first time into LBG and he said it was a Great Airline and no problems at the Airport. He said he actually did not mind flying although he still prefers to drive down.

Jet Blue is my all-time favorite airline. I prefer to fly with them over any other carrier. They have unlimited snacks and drinks (including Dunkin' Donuts coffee) and roomy, leather seats. They also have free TVs in the seats for all passengers to view and their first checked bag is free. You can't go wrong!
