JetBlue Rates

What is up with their summer rates??? My family of 3 was booked on a flight for spring break in April and we had to cancel. It left me with almost a $600 credit to be used.

Anyhow, DS is going to be going on a fishing trip in August. So, DH and I thought we'd take a trip to WDW for our anniversary. I planned on using my Jetblue credit. I took a look at my dates and the flights are outrageous. At this point it is going to cost me MORE than $600 for the 2 of us to fly. Which is unacceptable to me.

I am really, really upset about this. If I go with another airline I'm going to loose that money with Jetblue. I just can't see spending that much for 2 of us to fly-- when usually I can find a deal to fly all 3 of us for under $500.00.

So, does anyone think Jetblue will have a sale anytime soon that is worth anything???

While Jetblue runs a great airline , they have never been the cheapest. We travel to Florida peak times(Christmas, Presidents week) and have never found Jetblue to be cheaper than Song or AA. They will offer fair prices with great service, but don't look to them to start a fare war. This is not SW, they lead with service and cap seat prices, they are not the low cost leader. With the price of fuel skyhigh, they will not going lower prices unless load factors drop.

Well ALL you guys are lucky. Here in Detroit, we have a measly selection of Spirit ( ) and Soutwest. I wish we had JetBlue or Song!

just heard a news report on TV

low cost carriers are following a slight rise in rates by the legacy carriers

jetblue has upped rt fairs by 10-20$

even SWA has increased fares 4-6$ ( rates now for buf-mc0 are 125 fun fares ONE way, that used to be the cost for RT )

I dunno about that!! If low cost airfare turns into "normal cost", I have a felling you will see some major problems in the Airline Industry. Chances are if all the carriers file for bankrupcy, the government will by the airlines or "loan them money'' to get them out of debt. For me at least (MI) the cheapest way to WDW is still by plane.

I always fly jetBlue and I have to agree that their prices for summer travel have not dropped. I still am willing to pay more to fly them then the more "mainstream" airlines because their service is 100% better! I often say I'd try Song or Spirit but their fares are either more expensive or their times aren't convenient.

We're headed from JFK-SEA in August. Back when they first released their prices the flights were $119 each way but we didn't have the $ to book. I kept watching the return fares inch up and finally told DH we were booking at $139. Thank goodness we did because now they are up to $184 or $200+!!! Last night I finally bit the bullet and got out departing flight, also of $139. I was too afraid to wait any longer. Plus I figure if fares drop then I can always get credit and use them to book our WDW flight for October.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that they do have a sale soon!

Well, I noticed that their current "deal" was posted last Wednesday per their website. So, I'm going to see what if anything changes tomorrow.

I just cannot justify it costing alomst $700 for 2 people to fly on a "discount" carrier. I've never paid more than $600 for my family 0f 3 to fly ANYWHERE. So, I guess I can only wait and see.
