I was lucky enough to book through google flights with confirmation from Jetblue for $520 round trip 2 people....I just went to their website and this is what they are charging for the same exact flights:

Fare: Boston, MA (BOS) - Orlando, FL (MCO), Orlando, FL (MCO) - Boston, MA (BOS)

2 Adult. Saturday, April 16 2016, 6:00 AM(departure) - Sunday, April 24 2016, 6:23 PM.(return)
$2,316.28 USD
Taxes & fees
$230.12 USD
Estimated total (Details)
$2,546.40 USD

How the hell do they expect to sell out a plane with these prices and what will happen if they don't sell out the plane?? just wondering will they cancel that flight altogether. I think this is price gouging at the extreme because it's school vacation week in the NE

They may have gotten close to selling out the plane and you just don't know it, or someone made a large mock booking, or sequence of mock bookings, selected seats, and then bailed out of the session before buying the tickets (this is why you don't do that!) and it'll take a day or two for those seats to return to inventory. That looks like a full Y fare, but only B6 knows for sure why they did that. Regardless of what you may think or what they look like, their pricing decisions are not arbitrary.

:yay::yay:I also jumped on the google flight/JetBlue booking Wednesday morning at about 10:30 for a non-stop round trip BOS-TPA, 4/16-4/23 thanks to Schucraig's post; I paid $840 for 3. A couple hours latter the Jet Blue system was working and the price jumped to $3,810 total. I have a confirm and the charge is posted to my VISA. I check my confirm every now and then to see if it's still there and how many passengers are on the flight. Including the 3 of us there are 7 seats booked on our flight. :yay::yay:

There must have been one serious screw-up-malfunction-breakdown somewhere somehow. As much as I'd like to know what happened, I'm glad I held out and hope they don't change our flights or mess with us.:idea::crutches:

If anyone knows what happened, post it. :teacher:

Good luck all,
Joe

I know, I was thinking the same thing! We got 6 seats for just over $1400 rt from April 15-25 out of bradley to Ft. Myers. I keep checking to see how many seats are taken and the only ones that are blocked off on the way down are the exit rows which may be because I have kids flying, the first row behind the extra leg rows on both sides and the right side row 8 and one other seat. The return is pretty much the same.

I am hoping for a not full flight! When we went to FL in April the beaches were so crowded, the year before it wasn't as bad. We had an early spring break too so I think that was part of the problem! We went from a Friday to a Tuesday (12 days), when we went to the beach on the monday before we left, Ft. Myers beach road was pretty empty so I am hoping the same next April.

These are there prices every year for school vacation week...unless you book the minute the fares are released. And...the flights will be full!

I checked what we paid for our flights during April vacay week in 2015 compared to the 2016 rates for April vacay week and the airfare went up 130%. That's just nuts.

I think I'm the only person on the boards who had a positive experience with this Jetblue fares release. We booked for April 24th to May 3rd directly with Jeblue via their website, and got $302 return (non-stops both directions) from Buffalo. That's cheaper than both our October 2015 and December 2015 airfare.

We also booked through google flights - 5 seats for $1301.00 - Thank God!!!
Once the JB website was up and running, those exact same flights were $2600!!!

My DH goes to Daytona Bike week every year and flies out of PVD. The flights are double what they have been in the past!! Bos/MCO flights are worse....I booked him on SW . My flight for April (return date not available yet) was more than usual out of Boston but after booking it a couple of days ago, it is already up $30.00.It may be bye-bye JetBlue for this family.

I think my booking with JB was just dumb luck. I plugged my dates (mid-January) into kayak and found NS flights from BWI to MCO (a new route starting in November). Got six round trip fares for $1057 and change. Same flights are now over $2400.

Grabbed 3 flights round trip from Providence RI (PVD) to Orlando (MCO) for $697 total via Google Flights back on July 8th when they were released. The Jetblue website actually showed ridiculous flight costs so I think we lucked out. Dates were 4/16/16 - 4/23/16.

My flights that I got for $1301 via Google Flights are now $3516 on Jet Blue!!! Who would pay that??? That's more than our cruise!!! :scared1:

I was on the website as soon as the flights were released and a one way ticket from Bos to HH was $580! That would be over $2500 just to get my family down there, never mind getting us home!

By the time I checked this board and found out about Google flights I could see much better prices through Google but JetBlue was already blocking them.

Already rethinking vacation plans for next year.
