jetblue or southwest??

i forgot to mention, though, that if you call them directly to book the flights over the phone they'll charge you 15 bucks per person...i had to do it over the phone, since the website seemed to be down at the time. She did ask me first if that was okay before going ahead so i had the chance to refuse if i wanted to, but just thought id let you know ahead of time!

Southwest doesn't have our dates available yet, but Jetblue does for $500 nonstop including taxes from Buffalo to MCO. I like the times. Should I book or is this likely to come down? I haven't flown except in peak season (e.g. over March Break) for years, so I don't know what prices to expect.

We have always flown with Jetblue and have nothing bad to say about them. They were more then accommodating when we travelled with 3 lap babies for our DDs first disney trip and of course all our extra stuff like car seats and huge stroller. I used Us airways last fall and never again! You get 1 free bag per person with Jetblue and free seat selection. Seats are usually cheaper when they first come out or about 2 months out. They often have seat sales.

can't help you with the cost as we leave from Syracuse. We pay an average of $300 per person return trip. For our August trip this year, I paid $1280 for the 5 of us ( 6 with lap baby) It use to be under $200 each a little over a year and half ago LOL

We have flown both and definitely prefer Jet Blue. Satellite TV on every seat, more legroom, pick our own seats online... We paid $998/for 5 return tickets taxes included for the end of January.

That's amazing, where from and how far in advance?:yay:

We book with whoever has the best fares and have flown with AirTran, Southwest, Spirit & Allegiant. We have flown out of Buffalo, Rochester, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Youngstown, OH. We take carry on luggage so don't get dinged with extra fees.

Buffalo to Orlando. We booked the day fares were released for our dates. We originally booked for $1146 but noticed a seat sale a few months later and rebooked, so we now have a $148 credit:)

I am on the email lists for JB, SW & AT & just watch their sales as they get emailed to me. SW is booking until Aug 10 right now but I haven't got an email from them to do with sales that far out. I just got one from AT & it was up until May 15th I believe. I don't get much from JB.

I love JetBlue. I fly quite often for work and personal trips and I find them one of the most fun Airlines around. I stopped using Air Canada to go to WDW from Montreal and now leave from Burlington, VT on JetBlue. I've always had good service, the in flight entertianment is great...and the free snacks!

We flew JB last Feb out of Buffalo and loved them! My kids were 7, 6, 4. They enjoyed watching T.V for the flight and still talk about it. The snacks and drinks were also a bonus. We ended up bring carry on luggage ..We decided to check ONE bag that would hold our liquids etc....We are flying direct air this march. My kids got DSI's for Christmas so this will be the entertainment while flying. I think we will try to check ONE piece of luggage for the kids and carry on for us. It was too hard to lug around carry on luggage, car seats etc..........JB has free seat selection.

Did you get a good deal with directair? We are also considering them but have not heard too much about them. I know the Lakeland Airport is further from WDW. Are you renting a car there??

JetBlue is a no brainier if cost is the same. In flight entertainment, slightly bigger leg room, free seat selection. We had a JetBlue flight that was delayed 2 hours coming home last year and when we arrived home there was a email they had credited my wife and I each $50 for future travel for the inconvenience! I didn't complain or say anything how is that for service!

jennyjinx3 - we are paying $79 each way during march break. We are renting a mini van from the airport. it is about 40 minutes away from Windsor Hills. I think MCO was about 20-30 minutes to Windsor Hills. My friend have used Direct air with no problems and prefer the small airports. My concern would be that there are less options during a snow storm etc....

Direct air isn't that great a deal unless you don't need to bring bags, start adding baggage fees and most times you are spending the same as JetBlue or southwest. Also direct air charges $25 each way for kids under 2 even if they sit on your lap and on JetBlue and southwest they fly free on your lap

We too are flying direct air from Plattsburg NY to Lakeland in January - 4 of us cost $800 and staying at Windsor Hills for 2 weeks. We have a car rental booked with Hertz and we are really looking forward to the small airport experience. I'll be sure to report back on our how we made out.

We just flew with Southwest and were very happy with the service. Two free checked bags for each of us. Free non-alcoholic drinks and little packages of snacks. No entertainment, but we brought a trunki full of things to do that helped the time pass by quickly. At one point, I asked the flight attendant where we were and she called into the cockpit to ask. The pilot made an announcement letting us know we were over Raleigh and told us how many more miles and approximately how much longer it would be.

The atmosphere was very lighthearted onboard the plane because the flight crew joked with the passengers. The boarding was a bit stressful, though, as announcements were made requesting people to trade seats to allow a mom to sit with her young child (she was in group C to board and her child was over four years old, so she couldn't do the family boarding). Free alcoholic beverages were offered to those who moved!! Once our son is over four, we'd definitely be buying the group A privilege boarding since we need to sit together - I HATE flying!

Couldn't go wrong with the price out of Buffalo for the 3 of us...Dec. 30 and Jan. 6 - both direct (2 hour 6 min) flights...$1069. Would have paid three times that amount out of Toronto! Makes me ! The parking shuttle driver at Buffalo told us if airlines ever make their fares equivalent in Toronto, they'll have to lay off 63 of the 65 shuttle drivers since most people who fly from BUF come from Canada!

I'm definitely going to check out JetBlue next trip since I love to have that map showing where we are when we're in the sky!!!!
