Which would you take and why, I know its going to be high in price during Spring Break, but any ideas/discussion over which you prefer and why? Looking for the best but also lowest. We have flown Jetblue several times, but never Southwest. Thanks!

I prefer Southwest if the prices are similar. Southwest lets you check 2 suitcases per person, FREE, so that's always a plus in my book. Some folks get their panties in a bunch about the boarding process, but I've always gotten an A or low B (like B1-B10) boarding assignment if I've been online at T-minus-24 hours. I usually buy early bird check-in for at least one of us for the return trip on SW, as I don't want to have to leave a theme park 24 hours before flight time. It's not so much about paying for the seating as it is for the convenience of not having to find a computer in the middle of the Magic Kingdom!! (if you have a tablet or smartphone and can get WIFI, you could book that way, but I have neither...)

On our last 3 trips, SW has been cheaper than Jet Blue. Add to that, the fact that SW lets each of us check 2 free bags, and it's a no brainier.

for us we only check 2 bags for the 4 of us and we prefer the assigned seating. The prices the last few Aprils have been very comparable. Southwest back in the day used to be significantly cheaper but from experience it hasnt. So for US we prefer JB. We booked for 1,008.80 for 4 of us roundtrip from BDL to MCO april vacation. Last april and the year before that we booked at 1,300 go with what you feel suits your family best!

B6 over WN, although I'm not a fan of either.

If you're price sensitive, look at BOS, LGA or JFK airports. JFK in particular has a bunch of flights to MCO out of B6's T3. It's a 2.5 hour drive from BDL, but the frequency and pricing is much better. Also, AA has an early morning flight (don't ask when you'd have to leave to get there ...) that gets you down there in time to make a lunch reservation out of JFK's T8.

I won't fly southwest for the seating.

We are flying JB this April out of BDL. I got a pretty good fare.

Thanks for all your replies. I will look into both air lilies and see which one has the best flight times and prices. I really like the get 2 bags free from Southwest, but also there is something to be said about Jetblue's assigned seating. (Also free snacks and individual TV's, I'm sure we pay for ) thanks everyone!

I fly both....it all depends on price and schedule. I prefer JB, but I have no issue with SW. I like the private entertainment system with JB, but the free checked bag is a plus with SW. Now that JB is charging for all checked bags, the playing field is similar.
I just booked SW for a trip to WDW in two weeks. While the fares were only about $5 different, I went with SW, out of Providence, because of the flight times.

My issue with JB? Sure you get assigned seats. But..... there are rows that constituted extra leg room seats. Exit row seats cost more. Now, they charge for that first bag. No, you can't pre-choose your seats with SW, but in all reality, if you get a boarding slot anywhere before B25, you should have no issue finding acceptable seats...for your entire group, unless it's a group of 9!!!

I didn't realize aisle seats cost more. I know on the flight we are taking in April I looked at the even more space seats but they are $50 pp each way so I said forget it! We are 2 rows behind those seats so I am good.

I get anxiety so the waiting and fingers crossing for seats all together who make me need a Xanax daily til flight day.

2 of our seats are aisle seats and didnt cost more than the middle or window? I am confused??

I forget how lucky I am. I usually go down alone or with just 1 other person. I can fly midweek during off times. I have never paid more than $189 round trip non stop with great times out of BDL and I live 10 minutes from the airport. I couldn't care less where I sit. Heck I'd sit on the jump seat for 2:30 hours as long as the whole plane ends up in Orlando!!

We have used both. Will be using Southwest in Aug and Nov and each for Jan. Our deciding factor usually comes down to which one has the earliest non stop time for MCO when we want to go and which has the latest non stop back to BDL. Right now that is Southwest since their first flight of the day is earlier than JetBlues. We are flying JB in Jan to MCO since tbey have the better flight time at night for marathon weekend and will be returning on SW since their time is better
