JetBlue or Delta

We are flying from NYC to MCO in August and need to book our flights. We are torn between JetBlue and Delta. Any recommendations?

I prefer JetBlus over Delta. But, that's due to the free first checked bag, and the entertainment system with JB. I also find that Delta makes more changes than JB does. I just flew JB...Boston to Orlando..in the past week. The flight down was scheduled to depart at 7:10am, but there was a mechanical issue. We were taken off the plane and then put on another one at 10ish. We were give $50 credit vouchers...didn't quite make up for the time I lost, and meets I missed, in WDW, but it's more than Delta tends to do.

I forgot about the free first checked bag. JetBlue may work out cheaper that way. The entertainment system would definitely occupy my 2 nephews during the flight. And I didn't realize Delta changes their schedule.

We've been flying Jetblue since 2006, twice a year. I've only had a couple of problems but they were taken care off promptly. Never had the seven hours on the tarmac issue. we opt for the extra leg room, since we are all tall people and it is great. I'd recommend them highly. but book now, the seats go fast and the prices climb quickly.

In the name of fairness, and full disclosure, JetBlue also 'tweaks' their schedule, but not on nearly as regularly as Delta. We are flying JetBlue from BOS-TPA and then RSW-BOS in February. Both flights have had departure times, within about 20-30 minutes, so not bad at all.

All things being equal (price, schedule, etc) I would choose JB in a heartbeat over Delta. Between the 1st free checked bag, in flight entertainment, free snacks, etc, it's a much more pleasant experience.

Yup, our last trip the flight going out was orginally 06:29 in the morning, it changed twice, actually left at 06:07 AM. With a 4 AM limo pickup, we basically stayed up all night, but we were on the road with the rental car on rt417 by a little after 0900. And i know JB took big hits on the tarmac delays but we had an experience coming home one year whent he plane was unable to pressurize and we had to turn around and land again at OIA. They had a new plane standing by and the entire delay was only 90 mins. Not too shabby.

As others said, it comes down to the baggage fees for me. Times are also important. Don't forget to add in the fees to get the true cost of the ticket before you compare them.

Thanks everyone!

Delta appeared cheaper at first. But when I added in luggage fees, it wasn't. I'm also going to look into flying from NYC to Tampa. We're renting a car anyway and the flight may be cheaper.

Unless flights are a *lot* cheaper, I usually don't bother with TPA. The traffic on I-4 can be a little unpredictable, and I'm always nervous about making my return flight.

I checked and the flights are not cheaper. I'll stick to MCO.
