okay guys, im a canadian and don't know much about them....however i am waiting after a second delay and little info and am starting to loose faith i them. we drove for abotu 12 hrs yesterday to depart from portland me cus of the awesome steal on airfare. then we got bumped coming back as they discontinues the direc flight back. no biggie, we can deal.

so we get here and from last nite to this am, our flight departure changed and we didnt know it. we didnt bother to check today as at our hotel the only reliable internet service was if we took the laptop into the bathroom. i kid you not. we got to portland jetway and i noticed it changed to four from 3. they said at the desk chances are it will switch back etc. new update, its now another 45 mins. the story was oh they held it in ny for connecting flights for passengers. then it changed to oh it hasnt even borded yet in ny. we were to get another announcement and haven't. anyone know the length of time a flight is from ny to portland me?

ugh! i guess this is more of a vent more than anything, but just wondering if this is totally normal for these guys, or is this just the stars not aligning for us? the kids are holding out for now. im just happy to have internet! lol

We've flown Jet Blue out of Newark twice a year for the last five years or so. We had one flight that was delayed out of Newark due to a problem with a flight crew that had to come from NYC. We had issues with getting info from the counter attendants. So that i've gone through before. However it was only one flight out of ten and the other times we've done well. We had one instance where the plane couldn't pressurize as it climbed out of Orlando and we had to return and get another plane. We only lost an hour and a half, they had a plane ready at another gate and it went very smoothly. So i don't think a pattern can be claimed, just that sometimes, stuff happens. but then again I've been flying for a long time for business and I've run into issues with most airlines.

thanks for the reply! not really sure since weve never flown them before and being from canada etc. its on its way from ny finally. we hrd from some other passengers that they told them jetblue double booked the plane for two cities. truth? who knows. they did break out water and some snacks for us which was nice. and hubby found the info for a credit about delays etc, 25 $ pp for flights 1-2 hrs, 50 pp for 2-4:59 hrs.

weve had a few minor issues over the yrs, nothing big, but nothing this long. just after driving all day yesterday, nearly getting killed by a tractor trailer who passed us illegally in a storm, i just wanna be there!

According to their website, flight 602 from JFK to PWM is scheduled to arrive at 4:47pm. Your flight is showing an estimated departure of 5:10pm, arrival 8:31pm.

I have flown several different airlines and what you describe can happen on any of them, especially when the plane is coming out of the NYC area. Air traffic control delays are common in the northeast metro areas.

thanks debbie! they did just make a ten minute landing announncement. ive never hrd so many whoops and cheers in an airport before! lol were coming mickey!!!

Isn't that for people stuck ON a plane, not in the terminal?

At this time of year, delays can happen. You have to be prepared for it, and you have to check the departure time of flights before leaving for the airport, and that's for ANY airline, ANY flight.

It's not just jetblue where delays can happen. It can happen to any of them.

While NYC can contribute to lots of airlines problems (the reason I avoid it as much as possible) the problem with Jetblue is that the entire airline revolves around NYC. Almost every single flight either takes off or lands at JFK or LGA. There are some directs between other cites but even those are affected since they may use aircraft that, at some point, must come from NYC.

We took a direct flight from Buffalo to Boston once. Easy going out, it was the first flight of the day. On the later return a few days later, delayed by 3 or 4 hours. Reason: it was raining. Not in Boston. Not in Buffalo. At JFK.

Feb 14, 2007 was the day Jetblue's Achilles heel became very apparent.

Nice TV's though...

nope, its in their policy somewheres that its if your delayed in the terminal, or late plane. just checked email and 50 for each of us from them.

i know delays can happen, but as i said, internet connection was spotty at best, i had one bar in my room and 2 in the bathroom, making it beyond slow and often not connecting. so checking and rechecking wasn't an easy option for us, the one in the lobby was just a bad. i've never dealt with jetblue so i was enquiring about their customer service. we heard about ten stories in the end as to why it was delayed....and then upon arrival that our pilot didnt even know why or what had happened. one being that they double booked the plane for 2 cities...not sure how true that was.

People were stuck in planes on the ground for hours during a snowstorm. That lead to new rules about how long people can sit on planes on the ground.

amberg@eastlink.ca is right. Our flight back from MCO in early November was delayed by 2 1/2 hours. Even though we sat fairly comfortable in the airport, we were each credited $50. While sitting in the airport, we did what any good Disney Fanatics would do... We started planning next year's trip. :)

hehe! good idea!!! i doubt our credits will get used. it was about a 12 hr drive down to maine thanks to the nasty storm the day before. i know normally it isnt that long, but that coupled with this yrs points and next yrs being used for this trip, chances are we wont be back again till march break 2014.
