Jetblue - Headphones?

My family enjoys the low cost option of flying JetBlue, but I just found out they no longer offer free headphones. Does anyone know if you can still pay for them on the plane? The DirectTV service would be useless without headphones!

I believe so but I'm not sure they take cash anymore.

I just assumed they wouldn't be more than a few dollars... only on credit card? Ok. Sounds strange to me, but whatever works for them.

Thanks for letting me know.

I also think your own headphones would work, so that might save you a few dollars if you have any.

We flew JetBlue a few weeks ago, and they had a container of headphones right in the boarding area. There's a box with a slot, you put in your dollar and take your headphones, basically the honor system, although there are gate agents close by.

ETA: We took our iPod headphones and those worked fine, but we didn't have enough for all of us so we also purchased some of the JetBlue ones.

You have the option of buying a pair for $1 cash right outside the jetway at the boarding gate. There is a stand that conatins the headphones. You deposit the dollar in the slot and take a pair. If you wait until you get on the plane, you can purchase a pair from the flight attendant but you will only be able to use a credit card as they do not accept cash for anything onboard.

Thanks for the clarification! I appreciate it... my flight leaves in 3 hours!

Yes you can buy them at the counter--they are in a big bin. They are only $1. Beware that if you choose to buy them onboard, they will not sell them to you until the beverage service begins and they only accept cc. However, you can also bring those ear buds from home. I always throw a few pair in my bag as a backup. I love Jetblue and fly them often.

Ooops, forgot the bins outside the jetway!!! I stand corrected.
I always have my own so don't have to worry about it.

Keeps the prices down when they don't have to deal with handling cash.

Turnaround time, too. On flights/airlines where cash is accepted, there is a Flight Attendant responsible for that cash and who has to balance before the plane can be turned over to the new flight crew.

Like the person said you can buy them at the gate if they have any left for a dollar.

I agree with another poster, go to Best Buy and get a pair, You can wrap yours up and fit them anywhere :)

Enjoy the Flight!
