JetBlue Flights are open through 10/25

I just looked and round trip for 4 ppl from Syracuse to MCO is $1248. Now the question is, do I wait or do I jump? Southwest doesn't open for another month...

I am wondering the same! I just saw that JetBlue opened more dates and we could get a flight from MCO to SYR for $103 per person one way. Flights down are about $144 per person. $247 roundtrip isn't horrible these days but we usually fly out of ALB on Southwest and love the 2 free bags with them.

I am tempted to at least buy the MCO to SYR flights back even if I wait and see if flights down go any lower but I am so indecisive! LOL We were also thinking of actually driving down to WDW this year instead of flying but I am still trying to figure out how much of a savings it would be.

With JetBlue, I have always found that prices only go up (ESP. Out of Syr). I would jump on $103. JB does offer 1st bag per person free. Many times I have passed on tickets in indecisiveness then paid more, sometimes much more later.

For my dates the prices started at $144 pp for each leg. Syracuse is closer than Rochester or Albany for me, but if I can get flights for $100ish each way I would drive further for that. I guess I will just have to wait until March when SouthWest opens for my dates. I will drive if I can't find flights in my price range though.

Just booked late October and got $115 each way. Doubt they would go down from that price point. I tend to book as soon as they are released. Over the past 4 years, I only see these prices go up.

I did look and see that I can get cheaper flights out of Rochester... For about $115 pp one way. I would have to adjust my dates, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

I booked mine from RIC to MCO for $99 down and $103 back at end of September. If they go down I will just get a credit. I have another flight to book for christmas anyway. These prices were to good to pass up even if they do go down.

I'm actually looking for flights from MCO or Tampa to Syracuse for July and can't find a great deal. Guess everyone goes North during the summer?

OP, I'd wait a few weeks, but then snatch them up before they're gone.

I was playing with the dates some and if I adjust to end of September, beginning of October I can get flights out of Syracuse round trip for $103 each way. So less than $900 round trip, plus a free bag... Gotta talk to the hubby but I might jump on this tonight.

From my experience, JetBlue prices to and from popular destinations have always been the lowest when first released. Unlike most others airline, including Southwest I have found they go down at some point. Southwest has always been the lowest. Ive paid between $180-$220 roundtrip out of NY area the last two years in the Month of May.

I am waiting for JetBlue to release for November. I have AMEX points to transfer to my TrueBlue account so I am anxious.

Jet Blue uses bucket pricing. They assign a specific number of seats on a flight to each pricing bucket. They sell the set number of seats in the least expensive bucket and then move on to the next pricing bucket at a higher price. With this type of pricing prices go up as more seats sell. If the have undersold flights they may run sails for specific days or times of year etc. but the days of undersold flights are fewer and fewer. If you are flexible you may be able a find a better deal by waiting. If you need a busy day or week you are better off to book as soon as released.

What I did was adjust my dates from Oct 4-12 to Sept. 28 - Oct. 6. This still gives me the same amount of time and flight prices went from $1248 to $868 total. This works out to $217 pp and there are 4 of us. As I was playing with the dates I could see the lower priced seats being sold out quickly. So I rushed and bought my tickets before prices went up any further! Something about buying plane tickets makes vacation seem like a reality instead of something to daydream about! lol
