If jetblue does move into laguardia does anyone think this may cause some fare wars?

Still hoping for the best possible price! I will NOT give up!

JET BLUE WON'T MOVE INTO LGA, they are already in JFK just a few miles S. The impact of Jet Blue has already happened. People flying out of NYC look at both LGA and JFK.

There are plenty of flights between $150-$200 R/T. Look for promotional faes from Jet Blue and other airlines. As soon as you find a fare you can live with book it. I suggest looking for $150-$170. If you wait for $99 R/T you'll probably wind up driving or cancelling your trip. If you're under a tight budget consider shortening your vacation by a day or two.

You really have to look at "fare wars" as discounts off full price of $1000. Fares under $200 are good. Fares of $150 ARE GREAT. Fares of $99 only last as long as it takes for airlines to cancel some flights.

WHAT DATES ARE YOU LOOKING AT?

Umm, Jet Blue WILL move into LGA according to the NYT. At least they applied to fly from LGA and apparently LGA has some slots available. BTW, Song flies out of all three NYC area airports as well (again, according to the NYT).

I hadn't seen the newsreport when I posted, however I wouldn't base my June trip on the availability of Jet Blue flights.

I just booked on American Airlines this morninig for a March 17-24th trip from LGA and paid $179 EA. FOR 5.

The best price for the times /days I wanted was $199 as of last week so I jumped on the $179 rate.

Depending on where you are in NY/NJ, you may want to look to Stewart airport (Orange Co, NY). SouthEast air flies non-stop from Stewart to Sanford which is North of Orlando.

We are flying LGA to MCO 2/27 - 3/6, AA down, and Delta (probably Song) home. $190/person including tax and trip insurance.

Booked 5 rt laguardia/mco for $154/person (taxes & fees incl.) on AA for 6/19-26

We "discovered" LGA a few years ago when I did a search on Orbitz for the best fares (including airports within so many miles). Since then, we have found their fares to be consistantly lower than Newark's anyhow.

If JetBlue moves there as well, who knows what will happen!:yo-yo:
