Jetblue and cancellations

I've been checking our flight's on timeness and it has been delayed or cancelled quite a few times. We are flying out of Newark and it is thunderstorming today so I can understand why it is cancelled today. We have a 5 pm flight- what happens if is cancelled? They say they will get you on the next available but what if the last flight of the day is full? This is only my 2 nd time flying in 15 years so I am nervous.

They will ask for volunteers to take a flight tomorrow. If no one takes them up on it or not enough people you will be put on a flight the next day. Since it's weather related you are not entitled to any compensation
