JetBlue Amex changes

Not sure if there is a current thread or not so I figured I'd post.

For those who have a JetBle Amex there are changes coming. Amex is no longer going to be the partner credit card for JB, instead it'll be Barclays MC. There hasn't been much information on what is going to happen and when until today. Just got this letter that explains some of it at least.

Thanks for this. I have been a loyal user of the JetBlue AmEx since 2012 mostly to fund these Disney vacations (have to rack up these airline miles somehow!) and I've had a good relationship with AmEx up until this point. I don't know how I feel about moving to Barclays or if current cardholders will get any fancy benefits of signing up with them.... Maybe it's time to swap to a new AmEx instead.

Hm haven't heard anything yet and almost the entire family has JetBlue Amex cards. I wonder if we will loose things like the affordable rental car insurance. I always just used AmEx 20 for the entire trip over what the rental company offered. I will miss that perk if it goes away.

Ugh... and it's going to be switching over right in the middle of a vacation for me.

Words of advice: Print out all your statements that you think you'll ever need in the next month. Once the swap happens, you won't have access to that information anymore. I've learned this lesson the hard way with other card swaps.

I cancelled mine in October right before they were going to charge me with my annual fee knowing this was going to happen. It's been in the news for about a year now. I'm hoping to see a rewards offer for the new card when it comes out! I got a survey in my email about 6 months ago asking what I'd like to see with the new card. It was very in depth. I hope they took our thoughts seriously. I'm anxious to see what the new card will offer.

Yes, but they are now accepted at Sam's Club.

My son and I each signed up for our own JetBlue Amex's last summer when we learned that this was going to happen. We figured we might as well get the 20K mile signup bonus while we can. After receiving this letter, we stopped using our cards so that all JetBlue miles can get transferred over and then we'll cancel our accounts before the switch takes place. We're hoping that Barclay will offer a signup bonus for the new card. Wasn't sure what we might get (if anything) if we just let the account transfer over from Amex. I'm sorry to see it go. The Amex offers alone more than covered the annual fee.
