Jet Ski Shore Adventure on Castaway Cay

If I may add a question, curious how fast they go as well. Do they get up past 40 mph?

My DH and son did it in 2011. It was Easter week, early April. The waters were pretty calm. They had a blast. My son, who is 18 now was only 10. He thought his Dad was going to fast and driving like a nut! Lol! My DH said it was lots of fun.

So, I guess it depends on th weather and water conditions. Good luck

We did it last March. It was so fun! I don’t know what speeds we went, but it seemed very fast to me! I drove one with our 9 year old on the back and my husband drove another with our DD 11 on the back. My parents were on another. It wasn’t so choppy to feel dangerous but there were some waves which made it more exciting. You stop on the back of the islands and explore for a few minutes. It was well worth it to us and we plan to do it again next time we cruise.

My family has done it twice at Castaway. We did the first excursion both times. The second time the all the jet ski after ours were canceled because of rough water. I do suggest wearing sunglasses because the water splashes in your face and it’s hard to see. You may also want to put a strap on your glasses so they don’t blow off.
When you do this excursion you have to follow in a single line. So if you want to go fast try and be the first in line.
We also went on a Jet Ski excursion on Royal Caribbean. I liked it better because they asked who had been before and who wanted to go fast and put you in that order and even changed it up during the excursion.

My DS did it in July 2015. We were on a double dip cruise and he was booked for the first CC day. Due to rough seas it was cancelled. He managed to get rebooked for the 2nd stop and the seas were still very rough, so much so they said if anyone wanted to cancel at the last minute then, they would refund the money. But he did it and thankfully was safe. He said it was very choppy though.

I did it a couple years ago and did not experience rough waters, it was just a typical sunny summer day and no storms to affect the water. They can certainly get up in the 40mph speed range. You head out in a single file line and follow the guide. Once you're out in open waters the guide will go pretty fast, at least ours did. It was a great excursion.

My husband and son (11yr old) just did this in December. No rough seas the day we were there and overall they loved the tour around the island. It was about 45 minutes long and my husband says he saw close to 35-40mph. My son said "Dad drove like a maniac!" It was his first time on a jet ski and he thought it was a little fast needless to say. I'm sure he'd do it again though if given the opportunity.

Has anyone done the Jet Ski Shore Adventure on Castaway Cay? If so, how it? How long is it? How rough were the waters?

George
We rode them in sept 2017. They were in poor condition. 1 broke down and 1 sank on our excursion. Mine was so under powered. I was so far behind everyone else. I complained to DCL.
