For those that have done the Jet Ski excursion on CC... We are looking to do this at 3:00 to end our day before heading back to ship. Is it and good time to go in the afternoon? Is earlier better or does it even matter? Opinions on this activity....?

Also, the 3:00 excursion states "ends at 4:00" but the excursion is 1 1/2 hours.....anyone know what that is about?
Thanks for any input (:

Following. I just booked this for our April cruise and picked 10 am. My thought was if we did it first thing, we wouldn't have to worry about watching the time.

We booked ours in the morning because there are times that the ocean gets rougher later in the day and the excursion gets cancelled

On the jet ski at castaway cay you don't have to worry about the time. You are in a group.
I meant if we did a later in the day time, we would have to watch our time to make sure to get back to the boat dock for the excursion. Doing it first thing means after we are done we do not have to worry about the time until it's time to get back on the ship. I hate to have a schedule to follow on vacation.

I don't think it's really an hour and a half long. I think they are counting the time they expect you to spend signing waivers and in the safety briefing. I've done this and I did it later in the day. I can't remember the exact time but it may have been 3pm as after I got back I went and found my group at the snorkeling lagoon and it was time to go back to the boat.

It was choppy the day I went and they were giving the option to cancel with no penalty. I had never been on a jet ski before but I talked to a few people who were coming in and one really nice family set my mind at ease. It was really fun. You ride out past the ship, past the snorkeling lagoon, and out to a sandbar where you can get off and walk around. The guides showed us some starfish and other stuff on the sandbar and then we went back. I would guess actual excursion time is 45-60 minutes.

I think Castaway Cay is a great place for doing this. You don't get to go crazy on your own (most of the time you ride in a line), but having just witnessed the horrific aftermath of a fatal jetski accident during our stop in the Cayman Islands a couple days earlier, I was pretty happy not to have people going in all directions.

They do ask if you have had anything to drink that day and if you say yes you cannot ride. Something to keep in mind. If you want to enjoy some tasty drinks in the sunshine, go for an earlier excursion time!

When we did it, it took 15 min or so for the group to get jackets on and safety talk. We were on the water 30-45 minutes, which wasn't enough time IMO to justify the cost. Despite that, we decided to give it another try and this time, they had issues with the ski's and it was cancelled for that reason. We were not charged. We also jetskiied in Cayman this past November but must have had a safer company as we were all in a line just like at Castaway. That excursion though had 3 hours of jet skiing which was fantastic.
