I need some ideas on how to prepare for the early mornings. I will be OK with the late nights as with a 3 hour change your 2:00am ( this is for all the sing alongs) is only 11:00pm to me. I'm not sure how I'm going to start the days before 11:00 am-----8:00am to me. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! I know when we have gone to WDW in the past we didn't hit the parks until noon----but we did swim until 2 or 3 in the morning. I might think that the British girls will have a similar problem. Well If you have any ideas please forward them. I know TammyH-oregon will be at the World for a week before Dis-con ( OH that lucky girl---I think she'll be there a total of 22 days) So hopefully she will already be time adjusted. Sorry for rattleing on.

Hi Patty,

I always alter my watch as soon as i sit down on the plane and then never really think about what time it would be back home unless im calling there. I also stay awake on the first night, no matter how tired I am to try and get my body in sinc with America time.

It works for me, that is until i get home and then i just sleep for 24hrs :teeth:

With all the excitment of Discon I dont think anyone will have any trouble getting up in the mornings.

well, speaking for last year, I usually crashed early and so missed the night time stuff. There were several of us that did this. And early was anywhere between 9 and 11 pm. Of course, I was staying at the All stars a half an hour away from the action. That is why this year, we are staying at the Swan and coming early so we can time adjust.

The trick is to just know yourself and if you have to crash early crash early or stay up late and catch up later in the day. We had people that did both and still managed to have fun with everybody.

That and plenty of coffee, I'm sure helped some.

One thing we all say is that we are going to go slower, stop and smell the roses, and eat and drink more during the days.

Somehow I think that will go out the window as soon as we all step off the plane. :p

From Cathy's tentative itinerary, there won't be any real early breakfast days. And, there's no Early Entry into the parks. These will also be a factor in the planning. :)

I didn't really find it too much of a problem last year. After travelling all day to get there I was ready for bed (10 pm there 7 pm at home) as soon as I hit the hotel. Getting a good night's sleep that first night helped me adjust to the time difference.

Last year, I got up early and sprang out the door with bells on my toes.

I stayed out late and thought I was doing JUST FINE! And I was....until I got home! I slept for a week straight. :( DH didn't much apprecite that. :(

So this year I am going to 'pace myself' much better. I promise. No fingers crossed behind me. ;)

I'm going to sleep more, talk and laugh less, drink lots of water, treat my throat to lemon and honey at night.....and probably miss out on a lot! LOL j/k I have NO idea how I'm going to 'pace myself', but I had better figure it out if I want to keep galavanting off to faraway places with my Disney friends. ;) :) :p
