Jet Blue???

Another vote of confidence for JB. They are solid. Can't beat the free TV's on the back of the seats. Keeps kids quiet for quite a while.

I've never flown Southwest. Their whole open seating policy kinda scares me. We have three small children so we need at least one adult to be in the same row. I'd be nervous about the seats the whole time until we boarded.

Especially because none of the BOS/MCO flights on SW are nonstops......that will make me consider a change from JB.

SW at Logan goes mostly to Midway and BWI direct and everything else indirect. Midway is great to have from Logan, but still cheaper at PVD for a direct fliight fare and parking within walking distance of the terminal every time I've booked.

JB is my current favorite airline, but it's not all roses. The recent reservation system change has caused havoc in making flight changes. My reservations for 2/10 to 2/17 were made in October in the old system. Both flights were cancelled due to weather in the northeast about 14 hours before the flights (and after I was checked in for both already). It took a supervisor's involvement and over an hour on the phone both times to get the new flights booked. In both cases, they couldn't give me seats as the flights were locked for airport seat assignment only from 24 hours ahead of flight time. Given they moved to AA's Sabre system, this doesn't make sense as AA can always give me seats on a re-book. Maybe it's a phased implementation and they'll add this later.

It was very helpful that JB had 5 direct roundtrips and 6 one stop in JFK roundtrips to choose from in re-booking. Casual flyers need to understand that JB has no intra-carrier agreements and in peak periods you may not get to where you want to go too quickly after a cancellation. We ended up leaving on 2/9 to replace the 2/10 flight as the school break peak period travel had no availability for a party of 2 to get from BOS to MCO until 2/12 if we didn't move up to 2/9.

That's us too. Nashua. Once the bridge is done it will be even easier. I keep voting on their site for Manchester, but it hasn't happened yet. Soon, I hope. Still worth the price of a car service to bring us to Logan for JB.

Ya haha.. we take the Boston Express out of the Rest Stop near Mobil

And starting in June, Philadelphia - although I don't think that's so much a connection point as a final destination.

By the way, JetBlue is now the largest (operating the most flights) airline at Logan!!! Massport officials are considering a megabucks renovation of terminal C. I hope that includes another Earl of Sandwich...

Wow! I didn't know that!!

Now if only they would fly out of Rhode Island....tho we really don't mind the drive into Boston, but we live on the border of RI and it certainly would be easier for us (not great fans of Southwest and their seating arrangement - we prefer to have our seats booked well in advance - plus we love the TV's on JetBlue)!!!:thumbsup2

I doubly agree on the Earl of Sandwich!!

Massport just put out a news release on Logan (and terminal C) updates yesterday:

Massport Board Approves Billion Dollar Capital Program
Five Year Plan Funds 379 Projects, Supports 1,244 Construction Jobs

February 18. 2010

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) today approved more than $1 billion to fund 379 projects as part of the Authority’s fiscal year 2010 – 2014 comprehensive financial plan of capital improvements.

The five year plan, amended annually, is expected to sustain the equivalent of 1,244 full time construction jobs. It will also fund such major initiatives as Boston Logan airfield improvements, including an expanded, decked safety area for runway 33L; repair and renovation of the Terminal B Parking Garage; centralization of the security checkpoint at Terminal C; construction of the Consolidated Rental Car Facility project; security enhancements throughout all of the Authority’s facilities; a major upgrade to the Conley Container Terminal in South Boston; and improvements to the Cruiseport Boston passenger terminal.

The capital program totals $737 million in Massport generated funds and FAA stimulus grants. Another $271 million from Customer Facility Charges will be used to partially finance the Consolidated Rental Car Facility. Another $46 million in private funds and special facility bond projects are also included in the capital program.
