So how does the credit on JB work?

If your rate drops you must call JB and they will adjust your amount. Keep in mind that if it says there are 4 seats at this price and you have 5 seats, you can not get the credit on the 4. I often make 2 reservations now when we are a larger group. I buy 3 seats under my name and 3 seats under DH's name. That way we can get a credit if only a few seats get discounted. Once you call JB, they will confirm the change of fare and put the entire credit into one account, generally the person who paid (me). That credit is good for 1 year from the day you got the credit (not the day you book like SW). You use the credit like cash when you make another purchase. You now retain the same seat assignment. Back before their website upgrade you had to make sure they would book your seat assignments back, but now it keeps them under your reservation. (The sales agent said that was the onlly nice part of the new sytem, the rest is a little more difficult than the older system they were using. I was happy that they still off the credit for reduction, as I thought it may go away during their January change over of their system.)

Thank you n2mm!!!! So do you have to fly within the 1 yr or book within the 1 year?

I think you just have to cash it in within one year. It's like cash. Though I fly every couple of months and never tested the theroy.

BTW -- when I book I always book one way. This way it makes it easier to get the credit. I haven't booked a round trip fare in 5 or more years now.

I caved last night and went with JetBlue. I looked into Southwest and their service isn't for me. I can't imagine having my family broke up due to their first come seating arrangements. Jetblue has spoiled me through the years ;). I can't wait to be back home at the world.:banana:

Thanks for the confirmation. Since we visit WDW 5 trips a year, my credits don't sit in my trueblue account for very long.

That's great. Are you a TrueBlue member and get the free flights? I'm not suer about the change, but hopefully it will still work well. Do you use the AMEx for even more free flights?

I've never gotten a free flight as my points expire before I reach the goal. I have gotten a credit recently (2 weeks ago) under the new system and they still offer credits. However, the method to get them for the sales rep seems very complicated (at least that's what they've told me). After you get your credits now they go to a credit bank account which is tied to your trueblue account. I checked right after the change and they are there and come up just fine. I'm waiting for a November release so I can book flights for 10 of us to come home after the cruise.

If you fly enough (accumulate points) or use the AMEX card your points won't (or shouldn't) expire. The vouchers (points cashed in) will eventually, but the points won't.

Great info....TheWog!!!

I also noticed your cruise ship. Is that a Carnival? We are going on a 3 day in July trip to break things up for a change, then doing a different hotel at Disney too!!! We are going on the Sensation.

You're welcome.

No, it is Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas. We are looking forward to it. We have friends that just got back from the Carnival Dream and said it was incredible. I have not sailed Carnival yet, but might in the future. Have a great time!

We just did our first cruise Feb 20th with Royal...the Grandeur of the Seas...We loved it. So we are doing on with the kids in July. But all my friends keep telling me Carnival is more kid friendly so I booked with them.

We also had friends who just did Dream they were there the same time as us..we actually met them at the Orlando airport on the way home...lol

I am so glad I did JetBlue yesterday. Southwest just released their October flights, and boy what a shocker. To start, there are no more direct flights from Dulles to Orlando and vice versa!

We did non stop in December, and so that seems kind of weird to me. Even the 1 stop flights would cost me $250 more than non stop with JetBlue

NonStop out of BWI instead of Dulles (same driving distance mostly from where we live) is still over $100 more than JetBlue was when I booked yesterday

It feels good knowing you got a good fare! I too looked at the SW fares out of Dulles and noticed no non-stops (strange). Maybe they'll be added later. doesn't matter, I'm booked on Jetblue and very happy about it.
