I have read a few posts about the TVs not working on Jet Blue flights. Anyone else ever have this happen to them? I am debasting bringing my laptop as a backup but would rather not.

I've flown JetBlue out of Newark quite a few times. The TV's were working on each flight.

It's happened to me only once. Luckily my wife's was fine, and we "shared".

It happened to us once, for part of our flight. It wasn't working at the beginning of the flight. So they gave everyone the movies for free. A little while later, the tv channels were working again. (They kept the movies running too.)

I have flown JetBlue several times when the tvs have not been working. You get a $5.00 credit for every flight where they don't work.

We flew Song once when something happened with the satellite halfway through the flight and the tv's cutout. They refunded the money we spent for a movie. So, it happens. You may not be allowed to bring your laptop (new rules). Bring a deck of cards in case! :)

What new rules? As of today laptops have been allowed on Domestic flights and were never banned.

I must have been misinformed. I heard that you couldn't bring laptops, ipods, portable dvd players, or cellphones on the planes--they can to be in your checked luggage. Something about the terrorist threat and these items could be used as detonators. Maybe it was just that one day last week when they couldn't bring them on?

Electronics have not been restricted, as any part of this recent threat reaction.

Yes, I was misinformed. I read the security advisory on Logan Airport's website too fast. It says, "Electronic devices such as cell phones, cameras and iPods may trigger secondary inspections, so it is recommended that you pack them in checked baggage if possible." http://www.massport.com/logan/insid_secur_list.html I read it too fast, saw the electronic items and checked baggage and thought they were on the no-no list.

Yes, I've flown once where one of the three in our row wasn't working. DH and I ended up sharing mine. Didn't know about the $5 credit though....
