Jet Blue Questions

Hi - Please enlighten me as I have never flown Jet Blue, but it looks like we will be for our August flights. I also have never booked my own tickets before, I always used a travel agent, so I am very nervous right now about booking on line.

Before I book on line,

1. Do I book now for August out of JFK? Flights are ranging from $79/$99
2. Can I pick my seats? For 2 adults, 2 children - I do not want to sit over the wing.
3. I have never even been to JFK, so how much time should I allow for check in on an early morning flight? Coming from Connecticut - most likely taking a limo?
4. Can I use curbside service?
5. How reliable are they as far as staying true to their flying times the way it is now?
6. What type of planes do they use? I could not find them on their website.

Thanks everyone!

1 - If, in your experience, that's a good fare, book it.
2 - Yes, you can select your seats after you pay for your tickets. See www.seatguru.com
3 - Can't help you, but a limo company experienced with airport transportation from your area should be able to advise you.
4 - Curbside checkin? Yes, any ticketed or e-ticketed passenger can check in for a flight with the appropriate airline's SkyCap. Remember to tip a dollar or two (preferable) per checked bag.
5 - Just as with most airlines, additional time is built into the flight schedule to account for slight departure delays (due to, for example, a backlog of planes waiting to take off) and still arrive on time.
6 - Again, see www.seatguru.com. JetBlue may use only one type of plane.

The reason I don't fly Jetblue is because they fly from JFK!!!! It can be brutal to get to. I would recommend a limo (CT limo perhaps). I wish they would fly from BDL.

I have not read the previous replys, so sorry if I am repeating something that was already said (I responded to the questions in the quote below)!
Also I wanted to add - we LOVE JetBlue. The TV's are a lifesaver (especially with DS5- he thinks it is so cool!), also I have found the employees to be very friendly and accomodating (a big plus), and their flight times have always stayed the same as when we booked them (an even bigger plus)

Before I book on line,

1. Do I book now for August out of JFK? Flights are ranging from $79/$99 THAT IS A GOOD RATE. HOWEVER, IF THEY DO GO DOWN AFTER YOU BOOK, YOU CAN CALL JETBLUE AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU A CREDIT FOR A FUTURE TRIP.
2. Can I pick my seats? For 2 adults, 2 children - I do not want to sit over the wing. YES, YOU CAN PICK YOUR SEATS AT THE TIME OF BOOKING. WE HAVE FLOWN THEM SEVERAL TIMES, AND THEY HAVE ONLY CHANGED OUR SEATS ON US ONCE (TO ACCOMODATE CHILDREN FLYING ALONE AND NEEDING TO BE UP FRONT, TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE IMO).
3. I have never even been to JFK, so how much time should I allow for check in on an early morning flight? Coming from Connecticut - most likely taking a limo? SORRY, DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS ONE :)
4. Can I use curbside service? YES
5. How reliable are they as far as staying true to their flying times the way it is now? WE HAVE FLOWN THEM SEVERAL TIMES, AND HAVE NEVER HAD THEM CHANGE THE FLIGHT TIMES ON US. THAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST PLUS TO JETBLUE TO ME.
6. What type of planes do they use? I could not find them on their website.
I FORGET THIS ONE... SORRY!! I KNOW IT IS AN AIRBUS.......

Thanks everyone!

I also wanted to add: don't be worried about booking online. We book EVERYTHING online, and have never had a problem!!! JetBlue is easy to navigate, and your tickets will print right out after booking. Another thing I wanted to add- I think on the JetBlue site they say what type of airplane they use.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving.

One other question, when I book on line, will I be able to see what seats are available to choose from?

Thanks again!

After you have paid, they will take you to a screen to pick out your seats, there is a legend to show what seats are taken and avaliable.
