Jet Blue questions

So, we always fly Air Tran but....I'm thinking of booking with Jet Blue on our upcoming trip. The answers are probably on the website but didn't jump out at me so I figured it would be easier to ask the knowledgable people on here ;) When you book do you reserve your seats and do you pay extra (like Airtran) to reserve the seats ahead of time? Also for the non-refundable fares, I know you pay a fee if you have to re-schedule but how much?? I like the idea that you don't have pay extra for the 1st bag and with that savings the fare would be cheaper than Air Tran this time. Thanks!!

As part of the booking process, you are given the opportunity to choose your seats at no extra charge. Now if you choose the extra legroom seats (they indicate which ones those are), there is an additional charge.

The change fee is pretty hefty at $100. But they do give you the first checked bag free which is why we booked with them for our next trip. We love flying with Jet Blue!

Just to add on to bball mom - the fee change plus the difference in fare increase if applicable. If you paid $99 or less the fee change is $50.

Jet Blue is my new favorite airline. I like that the one checked bag is included and that I can chose my seat location for free. I love that the seats have plenty of leg room too. I can't even imagine how much leg room the ones that require a fee to pick have.

My last trip I got stuck paying the $100 change fee. I wasn't paying attention closely enough when I was booking and bought my ticket for Feb. 8 in stead of March 8 - both days fell on the same day of the week. When I caught it less than 2 hours later, it cost me $100 to change. Lesson learned - always triple check before hitting the final button. :sad2:
