I just found a new flight that Jet Blue is offering for our trip to MCO from Buffalo in early Feb.2012. Just listed within the last few days and allows us to leave on an afternoon direct flight on Thursday instead of early morning which works better for our schedule. My question is about the fares. The morning direct flight which has been available for months is $125 but the new listed flight which is also direct is listed at $541. I can't understand this. Do the airlines do this when they first list new flights for some strange reason? We don't fly so I'm not familiar with this process. Any insight would be helpful since this flight could be a great one for us to have reserved seats and the times we need. Thanks.

No idea about your question but that is one huge fare :scared1:

I have seen this before, happens when they first put the flight on the system, wait until the morning and see if it doesn't go down, perhaps not to 125.00 but either 139 or 159.

I just booked JetBlue for a Thursday flight in April.
Total price for 4 one-way tickets was $541 exactly. $125 x4 plus $41 (Taxes/Fees)

I think you are looking at the total price of 4 tickets!!

and it comes up at $128 as you said, but when I put in for 4 people, the amount does list $541 per person for a total return trip cost of $4,413.60. Obviously a glitch in the system. The site also now shows only 1 seat left on all the flights that I wanted so I'm not sure what will happen.

I would call in at this point.

There are a few flights listed at$540 and that is ridiculous!
Not sure what is up with Jet blue....

I booked our March flight the minute they were released for$159 and return for $139. those flights, within MINUTES of booking them, they went up to $540 each way.
When I check the seats available on that flight....the plane is empty! Only about 10 seats sold. So who knows what is up.

I would say wait . Those $500 flights each way need to drop. Who is going to pay that?

jet blue prices change all the time....it drives me nuts. When I booked my flights they were changing a couple of times a day. I say hold out until they are in the $90-$120 range as they eventually will be...Good luck

This has happened to me before and it happened when I tried to book a trip for 4 people as well. But when I split up my reservation into 2, then we paid the lower price:confused3. Maybe try entering 2 & 2 and see what happens.

where it used to say there was only 1 seat available on the site, it can now be booked again. I really don't get this strange system. The price would come up at $128 for single booking only. If you tried 2, 3 or 4 people it wouldr revert back to the $541 price each way. All very weird. It looks like it is back to normal now so I just hope I can get confirmation of where we are staying so I get firm up these flights and then watch them to see if they go down. Thanks for all the input.
