I've always heard Jet Blue was one of the cheaper airlines, but it's easily one of the most expensive ones I've found at $423 one way! :scared1:

Please tell me I'm missing something! WIth everyone telling me it's the cheapest, I'm thuroughly confused that I've missed something important. Do they send out deals a lot? :confused3

It really depends on the city and how much competition there is. It can also depend on the dates. It's difficult to make a blanket statement like that about any airline.

It goes either way for me. Sometimes they are much lower, sometimes much higher. I like that you can check a bag for free so I have to remember to add baggage fees to fares from other airlines to make a more fair price comparison.

I love Jet Blue but they have never been one of the cheaper airlines in my experience. Occasionally I can get a good sale price but they usually are higher than Air Tran. However Jet Blue's price includes seat assignments and one piece of checked luggage so that has to be taken into consideration as well.

$423 one way does seem awfully expensive!

I use to fly Delta until I tried Jet Blue and quite honestly last year Delta was much higher priced than JB. Not sure about this year since I never even checked Deltas prices. As for the other airlines that advertise cheaper airfare, I want to have my pre-assigned seats which others do not offer in the price of the ticket.
If I can get a ticket for $250 or less RT I am happy

Im assuming you dont think the price of gas for cars has anyhing to do with rising jet fuel cost?

I'm sure the OP realizes that fuel prices are to blame for the higher prices, as I am sure fuel is higher everywhere!:sad2:
Having said that.......I have noticed that Jet Blue has been a bit more costly than it used to be and not as budget minded in comparison to other budget carriers in my town.
We used to fly Jet Blue , but Airtran beats them price wise in my city. So I figure Airtran's planes will get me there just as good , even if I don't have the TV to watch.
Good luck to the OP on finding an airfare that fits their budget.I know it wasn't as easy to find ours this year.:)

Obviously I understand that. But when the other airlines are starting at $187, I can't fathom it.
