Jet Blue's schedule beyond January 4th will be out on Monday July 19th at 10am Eastern .... received an e-mail from Jet Blue stating this.

Yes, I got the email too. We have a trip planned for Jan. 16 to Feb. 1, so this fits in nicely, plus a nice credit sitting in one of our accounts. I just hope the prices are reasonable, or I'll be waiting like I am still am for our November trip.

Does Jet Blue charge for baggage?

No, they are one of the rare animals that still allows 1 free checked bag and gives you assigned seating FREE too. They have TVs at every seat, which is a plus when traveling with kids. And snacks! You do have to bring your own headset for the TV/or radio. If you forget you can buy one for $2.

Thanks. Just saw a reasonable Air Tran flight but think I will wait til Monday for JB to release

We have AT too out of Dulles, but you have to add that $15 per bag, plus the extra $6 for seat assignment if you want it ahead of time. So you have to remember to compare prices with that in mind. PLUS, you have the chore of paying for your bags for your return flight and with Jetblue you just show up and check your bags at RAC. I do choose JB over all other airlines even if the price is slightly higher, just for the convienence.

Do earbuds from an ipod work for the tv jack?

JB does charge for a second checked bag, as well as certain seats with more leg room.

JetBlue fares are posted on Expedia & Kayak this morning; JetBlue $868 RT NS BOS to MCO in February - yikes, looks like today they're competing with Delta's ridiculous fares that they've been posting of $1,000+ for the last few months.

Hopefully it's a fluke and when JB opens fares on their own site tomorrow @ 10am they'll be much less!

Thanks for the tip. I checked expedia and it's showing $81 each way from Dulles to MCO and great times (9AM down and 2PM home). This is the average starter price for JB. My last couple of trips I've booked started out at $59 each way -- which I jumped on immediately! (That is for my Sept trip and our late Oct/Nov trip, both upcoming). I hope yours gets better -- but it's probably a fluke (I hope).

I've never seen fares like these from NE; but then again; our vacation is usually the last week of February (starting the weekend AFTER President's weekend) and we've never had to compete for holiday fares. Another reason to be upset with our school district for changing our week after 11+ years and putting us in Disney at a very busy time.
PS - sorry about the rant! :)

Are you traveling during school vacation week? We tried to book a trip during the April break and prices never went down...$700 pp RT was the best we could do...so, we didn't do it and had to postpone our trip. I coulnd't justify our airfare being more than our week-long stay with ddp.

Last year we flew SW and loved it so we're committed to them (2 free bags). They have a wonderful policy for passengers with peanut allergies (DS). Alt though someday I would really like to fly JB because I hear it's great!

I hope those prices do fall for you because that's just plain old ridiculous!

Yes, unfortunately in 2011 our school break falls during President's week holiday. I see fares for the week after are MUCH cheaper and more reasonable.

I went to jet blue site just a few minutes ago and I was able to pull up flights from ORD to LGB through febuary 28th. They only have 1 flight listed but maybe there will be more if you trying other locations.

Also I put in dates until Jan 4th and them on the next page it gives you the price calander box on the top and I just kept hitting next 7 days until I could go any farther.

Apparently they are loading the system now. Ichecked a return flight for Friday 2/25 and most of them were listed in red for $113, I checked some other dates, when I went back to Friday and they were in black, over $300.:confused3

I checked my date and it was almost $300 one way. Do you think it will get better tomorrow when they officially release?

Checked flights EWR to MCO for January and they were $92 and $79 each way, $192 round trip! :dance3: That's about as inexpensive as I've seen them in quite a while!
