We are flying Jet Blue for the first time.

I know airlines do change flight times - arrivals and departures.
How many times has this happened to you ?

Was it a major change - such as more than an hour difference from your original flight ?

Does Jet Blue contact you when there is a change in flight times ?
By e-mail or a call to your home phone ?

Any one experience a Jet Blue flight time modification ?
Thanks !

1. The past two times I've flown to Orlando they've changed my flight times, both arriving and departing (multiple times per flight actually). For some reason they usually change both. They also did it for my flight planned in August.

2. No, the changes are usually never more than a half-hour difference (mine have always made the flights EARLIER btw), but I guess it would vary by airport.

3. Yes they do.
3a. They will contact you by email. It is very clear what the changes are and you can either accept the changes or choose another flight for free if the change does not work for you.

Like I said earlier though, it all depends on the airport. From what I've heard from customer service, it's usually MCO that is the reason the flights change. Southwest gets priority in choosing takeoff/landing slots, so if they change MCO has to re-schedule many other flights. If jetBlue has a larger share of the originating airport's flights (like they do at JFK, my home airport), that airport works with them to ensure minimal changes to the flights, especially on a high-demand route like the one to Orlando. If they don't have a majority of the flights, that's when the changes could be much more different than originally planned.

Also, CONGRATULATIONS on your first jetBlue flight! Soon you'll realize why they're one of the highest regarded airlines in the nation. Having flown with (and experienced customer service on) other airlines, I have to say nobody is better than jetBlue.

Last year they changed Tampa to Boston 3 times. One of the changes were 15 min.

I booked them once from the West Coast to WDW. They only changed my flight once, but it changed my arrival by 17 hours! I really wanted to fly them as I had heard good things, but I am not sacrificing a day at Disney for the opportunity. I called and they refunded my money. Luckily I was able to make a inexpensive booking on another airline.

They have changed our flight times 3 times in the last 2 months. It is no big deal as the changes were minimal. I have never had any other airline do this.

For my March trip they got rid of my non stop flight. They called to let me know. So my times were changed by many hours. Then the flights they gave me changed times two more times but it was only by a few minutes. It also was the first time I had encountered a rude counter agent with JetBlue.

I fly JB a lot....and yes, they change times. But, the times usually aren't all that big. For instance, my dd and her friends are flying out of Boston, to Orlando, in June. I just got emails for them alerting them to time changes on their JB flights. But, the time changes were under 5 mins. Not a big deal.

When changing flight times...do you have to redo your seat choices? Or do they carry through to the new flight?

I never experienced flight time changes of more than a couple of minutes on JB until last fall. They moved our 6:30 a.m. flight to 8 a.m. I was bummed because we'd taken the 6:30 a.m. the same weekend the year before and loved getting to MCO before 9 a.m. They called us about the change and we also got an email.

This year they tweeked our flight times a few times, initially we got a call but then for the last couple of changes we didn't get any notification at all :confused3. That's not like them so I'm not sure what was up with that.

In my experience, we did not have to re-do our seat choices. We booked in March for a late September flight - right after the schedule came out. The flight times changed a few times in April and May, no more than a half hour, and then didn't change again.

Jetblue changed our returning flight twice on our most recent trip (no changes to departing flight either time). We were originally booked to fly out at 8:30-ish in the morning. Then they moved us back to about 7:45 a.m. . We were pretty bummed out that we would have to be at the airport that early.

Second change was to move our morning flight to mid afternoon (2:30-ish). We celebrated  . That was exactly what we had hoped for in the first place.

We purchased our tickets for our upcoming vacation in January. So far, no changes to either flight have been received. Would love for them to move my late afternoon departure from SYR to earlier in the day. The early morning flight was just too darn expensive at the time of booking.

Flying JetBlue for the first time in 2 days!!! :cool1:

They changed my flight once. On the way home, I was set to leave Orlando at 10am and they changed it to 8am. They informed me by voicemail and email. I called and was able to get a later flight out (the original one I wanted but it was too muich $$) for no fee. They said as long as the time change is more than 45 minutes, they allow you to change flights. If we kept out flight times, the seats were the same as it was the same size aircraft. However, for the new flight that row was already taken so we had to move 7 rows further back.

Have a great trip.

Our flight changed by 30 minutes and we did not get an e-mail or phone call.
Should I call Jet Blue to see if they have my correct e-mail and phone # ?

we just got a call from Jet Blue that our flight was moved about 10 minutes later, and then coming home 10 minutes earlier.

We've only flown Jet Blue once . . .the day after Thanksgiving 2011 . . we were scheduled for an 8pm flight home and they changed it to 6:30pm . . .we were not notified and I had found out from going on Jet Blue to check my flight . . .I'm glad I did . . .

I liked flying Jet Blue, I love the little tv's and the comfy seats, but that just ticked me off a bit . . .they should of notified me . . email and cell phone are the same as when I booked the flight . . .

Also, the area that Jet Blue flys out of MCO is the OLD portion of the airport . .I had no idea where I was going . .

A friend of mine was flying from Dulles, but Jetblue is now leaving from Reagan. I happened to see the discussion on the boards and I mentioned it to her. She checked her flights and in deed the airport was different:scared1: They didn't call or email. If I hadn't seem it on here, she wouldn't have known until she was checking in :confused3. The two airports are about 40-50 minutes apart from each other, and she already lives 40 minutes from the original airport.

Jet blue has changed my flight to Disney every yr
Usually just a few mints, this yr three hrs and I was pissed because the flight was selected based on the time leaving and arriving

Just rec'd a change notice via email for both of our August flights. Departing SYR 30 minutes earlier than originally schedule and then returning home from MCO 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled.

Happy that we now fly out of SYR at 3:55 pm as opposed to to 4:25 (every little bit helps, right?) .

I booked our tickets last year for Jet Blue. Hubby really wanted to fly them more for the leg room, and I wanted to fly them for the 1st bag free. Anyway, found a decent price and booked. About 2 months before the trip they changed our flight back from around 3pm to 8am! With the Magical Express we would have had to leave the resort by 5 am. Sorry - ain't going to happen on my way home.

Here's hoping that your flight times won't change much.
