Check your JB flights out of BDL.
Please correct me if I’m wrong...andI know you will, but it appears there are no more 8AM flights out of BDL for Orlando. Looks like Providence has the 8AM flights now.
This bites. :sad2: Really hoping I'm wrong.

Was checking on our flight in April. Noticed they moved our mid afternoon flight to 12:24pm instead of 2:30pm. Then noticed there was no more 8am.
Not a big deal, because we are flying in a day early for a cruise. If we were going to Disney, we like to arrive by noon. We’ll either have to fly in a day early or go back to <shudder> SW for BDL to MCO, then use JB for our return.
Sorry to the SW fliers, once you go JB you never wanna go back. :rotfl2:

My friend was just notified about the change for her April trip. They are losing the whole afternoon on both arrival and departure days.
She is not a happy camper

Remind her to check her seat assignments. Mine was changed from an aisle to a middle so I chose new seats.

I booked JetBlue last March when thier schedule came up for sale for November. We went from Bradley to Orlando on November 9 -- 17, 2012.

When we booked we had:
7:00 am non-stop out
6:05 pm non-stop return

Then they did a schedule change:
7:00 am non-stop out
8:30 pm non-stop return (more time with Mickey!!!) :)

Then another one:
10:56 am non-stop out (ugh....not arrivng until 2pm, day wasted!)
2:35 pm non-stop return (what!!!! 6 hours less)

Option was to cancel with full refund but at the time Southwest non-stops were $619.00 per person!!

So we were able to fly in the night prior on the 8th at 6:05 pm arriving in at 9pm. Got a room at the Hyatt then continued the next day. But it killed me to lose that last day.

Good luck and if you book with JetBlue continue to check your flights and seats.

Not sure if this makes a difference in the end, but in my experience, Jet Blue only make schedule changes when it has strategic changes....like in DC, they decided to switch from flying out of Dulles to Reagan-National. Whereas Delta and US Air (to a lesser extent) tinker with their schedule frequently, sometimes making pretty major changes.

Put another way: Delta sells tickets it way ahead of time before it really knows what routes it will actually be running 11 months in the future. JetBlue only sells tickets on routes it actually intends to fly, but it's overall city strategy might change after your purchase and before your flight dates, resulting in flight time changes.

Again, I get that this doesn't really matter to the end user....a changed flight is a changed flight...just have to roll with the punches and figure out the best solution once changes are made.

JetBlue competing with Southwest has made BDL fares to Orlando the best in New England the last few years. It's too bad that the PVD expansion has come at the expense of BDL. I had specifically noted that shouldn't happen when I was part of their survey on PVD service last summer. I always felt Boston should lose a flight or make PVD a net capacity addition versus take a flight or two away from BDL. With BDL now only having direct flights to Orlando (2 currently - dropping to 1), Fort Lauderdale (2 currently and not changing per open schedule), and San Juan (1 currently and not changing per open schedule), you have to wonder how strategic BDL is to them anymore. Especially with PVD having the first two destinations now with 2 to MCO and 1 to FLL on the open schedule.

My sister is flying JetBlue in Dec. and originally at a 7:00 a.m. flight and they changed it to 10:46. Losing a lot of time that day at Disney. Her flight on the way back also changed by a few hours. I like JetBlue but we have already booked our Aug. trip with Southwest since they have a 6:30 a.m. nonstop so we don't lose the day. Wish JetBlue had better time out of BDL.

The exact same thing happened to my family. Our flight times were changed to the later flight in the morning and the earlier flight in the afternoon.
Wile I'm not happy about it...JetBlue DID offer me a full refund OR I could switch to another flight even at a different airport.
It just didn't work out with our schedule. While its not what we had originally planned, JetBlue was being as accommodating as they could given the circumstances.

It's a double edge sword. Low fares are great but at some point the airline may decide the route is low profit or unprofitable and make changes. Even if the plane is full they could still lose money if the fare is too low. At that point, they have to decide if they want to continue to compete with low fares, try higher fares to see if people will still buy or walk away. With competition from JB and SW, Delta walked away from their BDL/MCO non-stop.

Here is Pittsburgh, there a was a big competition between SW and US on the PIT-PHL route, which drove fares way down. SW ended up walking away and fares on US jumped from around $116 to over $600 roundtrip.

Although we're flying out of HPN not BDL, your post prompted me to check our flights for April and sure enough, our flight to MCO has been changed from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

I'm bummed that we'll no longer be getting there at 9 a.m. but OTOH, it'll be nice not to get up at 3:30 a.m.! This is the second time we've had this same exact change for this flight (last time was October 2011). Makes me wonder why they put the 6:30 a.m. flight out there to begin with. But as long as we get there, I'm a happy camper!:goodvibes

You're not wrong.

We booked back in late March (we leave on Dec 5th), and the 7/8 AM flights were still there. Some time in late Aug we got a schedule change notice that we were being moved to a 10:45AM flight out. We also had a 6:00 PM flight back..which was moved to 2:15. The good news is: They didn't change our seats.

Looks like the changes went into effect in late October or early November. Their whole BDL to MCO schedule completely changed.

Not as ideal..but still cheaper non-stops than pretty much everyone else runs out of BDL (SW being the one exception, SOMETIMES).
