We have a 5:30 flight and time is tight preflight (silly me has to work until 3). Just looking for dinner ideas to take on the plane. Did you pack a meal at home or buy something at the airport to eat on board.

Thanks-these are the details that consume me ;)

I never have a problem finding something good to eat.

mmmmmmmm Legal !!!

Nice list, Boston5602! I just bookmarked it for our next trip- thanks. We usually just pack a couple of sandwiches in a small cooler type lunch bag along with a few snacks, just in case nothing looks good at the airport. Alot of times we are rushing to get to the gate, so that way we know we at least have a little something to tide us over!

I wouldn't count on being able to bring food from home through security (the TSA apparently can't figure out which foods are liquids and which foods are solid) so I'd plan on purchasing food at the gate.

Thats what I was thinking.

And I'm make darn sure to buy something even if you're not hungry -- don't want to get stuck on the tarmac all night with an empty belly:rotfl2:

We (myself, DD9 and her friend, 9, just got back from a NYC trip -- we took a Greyhound from Boston -- trip there good, trip back, well, we never had time to pick up a sandwich before Port Authority and it didn't really matter because we weren't hungry at 3:00 really and we would have at least 30 minutes or so at South Station -- and then we were stuck in traffic for an extra 2 hours and just about missed the last bus from Boston to Cape Cod -- 9 hours later I can tell you we were mighty hungry.

There's a nice meal-to-go stand right by the JetBlue gates in Logan. Nice selection of salads/sandwiches/etc. pre-wrapped for the plane.

Took the words right out of my mouth!!! I've seen lots of people buying at that stand for later on the plane. I usually just grab a bagel (or two) and a water. There's nothing worse than being seated near someone that is eating something really 'fragrant' and have it turn your stomach...that's happened to me several times, so now i try to be careful what I eat on board.
