Jet Blue recently started a few flights from MIA, and now American is partnering with them on some things so my lifetime Gold with American will also work on Jet Blue. Jet Blue currently only flies to a few destinations from Miami, but one of them is Boston and we have family in Boston.

We've never flown Jet Blue, so we'd appreciate any feedback anyone could give (good, bad, or ugly) on them. I think we would fly normal economy, not business class and not basic economy, if they offer basic economy.

Thanks in advance for any personal experience you could offer.

Jetblue is like Southwest with different policy for boarding and no free bags. I’m happy with it.

I like JetBlue a lot more than Southwest and rarely have issues with them. I've accumulated a lot of points with them and redemption for flights has been easy.

Now, with that said, there is always a glitch in experiences and lately I've been dealing with them messing around with the seats my daughter and I were assigned. We had them set, then they were removed. When I contacted JetBlue via Twitter, the only core seats they had were not together. I ended up upgrading our seats in order for us to sit together. It was very frustrating and I honestly am aggravated at the whole situation.

I would have one free bag because of my American frequent flyer status, but I'm not sure how that works with JB.

With American, I log in under my FF account and any tickets I purchase get free bags (not sure how many because we all travel with 1 checked and 1 carryon). Hopefully, all in my party would get 1 free.

We love jetBlue and they are our first choice whenever possible. It helps that I've been Mosaic the last few years but some of the perks like free cancellation have been extended to everyone. Their two tiers are Economy and Even more Space (think of it as Economy plus). We always get the Even more Space seats which are more comfortable and also put you up front which translates to always having overheard bin space and quick de-planing. With the free cancellation policy, I'm able to book early to get our seats and then keep an eye for price drops, which always happen, and can cancel and re-book. With Mosaic we get 2 bags each and I'm not sure how that works for American.

I really like jetblue.
Just flew them twice in last 2 mos. easily booked online.
I like choosing my seat ahead ( unlike Southwest whom I used to fly almost exclusively Before they cut so many non stops and decimated their flight paths, and hated the seat shuffle)

I enjoy using my Bose noice canceling headphones ( I have to wear Earplanes) so having my headphones plugging directly into the Movie/flight path/tv screen at ur seat is Awesome. Watching a movie makes the flight, Fly by lol. Such convenience! I like the service onboard, the ease of changing things as far as flights/times etc. and very helpful call Ctr employees. Grabbed their CC deal a bit ago and those free miles took went soo far!
a win- win for us.
safe travels !

I typically fly with Jetblue because they have a lot of flights out of Boston. If you choose their Blue, Blue Extra or Blue Mint fare, there are no change or cancel fees, one free checked bag, choice of seat, and a carry on.
Blue Basic is cheapest and doesn't allow a carry on, you pay for checked luggage, and it doesn't have seat selection (but you can pay a few dollars extra during the booking process to select a seat, price depends on location of the seat). There is a change/cancellation fee with Blue Basic. I recommend a Blue Basic fare if it is a very good price and you are sure that you won't want to cancel. If you have free checked bags due to having the Jetblue Plus card (or another program with AA possibly, but I am not sure how/if that works yet), this could be a good option, but take its limitations into account.

If you want to connect to inflight entertainment, make sure to bring wired headphones. They plug into the armrest. Many people have air-pods or wireless headphones now, but those won't work if you want to use the Jetblue entertainment on the back of the seat.
Also, if lumbar support is something you need then bring something to help you with that. The new seats have terrible support. I actually emailed them about it. The seats over-all are pretty decent.
The snacks and drink options are good and they have Dunkin' Donuts coffee, if that is your thing.

Are you telling me that I can wear Earplanes and still use headphones?! Why have I never thought of this? Is it comfortable? thanks and sorry OP for going off topic

I flew them a lot. They were great. I quit after they started one of the most restrictive Basic Economy categories out there.

They also stopped allowing points to purchase Blue Basic. If you're using points, you have to purchase a Blue, Blue Extra, or Mint fare. That is a waste for people who earn points using a Jetblue card that includes free baggage. I considered not using them as much and giving some business to Delta, due to this.

Their CS stinks lately... But in the past they were a great airline to fly with great CS I hope that returns.
You will need to Buy the Blue (middle selection) if you want to choose your seat assignments and Carry on bags. The blue basic includes neither although you can pay for those services.
Snacks are still good as the drink service and always nice to have a TV with many options from Radio to Movies all included (some movies extra) that uses a regular Headphone jack.
