Sorry if this has already been asked... I went back 7 or 8 pages and didn't see it....

Any ideas on when Jetblue will release Feb 09 fares...

we are looking SYRACUSE or Rochester to MCO..... right now they are CRAZY!!!!! unless we leave Feb 11th out of Rochester... that means two days out of school for the kids.... but it would save us over $400.... $784 for 4 instead of $1280

thanks

generally six months out so you would be lookn at august, however they opened the january fares earlier than that window, so id say to check in early/mid july

I'm waiting here with you! We fly out of ROC, sometime BUF in good weather(not Feb).

I've been eyeing that 4pm Airtran flight on Wed. from ROC for $109(?) but DH really wants to fly Jetblue even if it cost more.

We're waiting on the JetBlue fares for that week in February as well. Our school vacation week is President's Week, and historically, it's hugely expensive. Not so much to get TO Florida, but getting HOME is very spendy. We usually will fly out either Tuesday night or Wednesday during the day, and let DS miss a couple of days of school leading up to vacation.

I have been stalking flights for presidents week. We go every year and I usually by very early but my husband is a school teacher and they told us not to make vacation plans until 2009-2010 schedule came out. While waiting I saw flight for 200-300 $ back in April and early may. Finally schedule came out early June now flights are much higher. We are prepared to drive this year if necessary.

thanks... I guess I will just sit and wait with the rest of you!!!!

Resurrecting this one. Any new guesses? I check every day. Like the OP, we will be flying out of Syracuse. On the 11th...

Not so patiently waiting...

So take the kids outta school. Heck do you know how many kids (and teachers) skip school for Disney? ºOº

Keep in mind that if you book your school vacation week flights on off days then you may have less crowds at the airport. For our April vacation we go Sun - Mon as the flights are a bit less (one year I saved $900 by switching from a return of sunday to monday...not sure if we'll get savings like that now) and the lines at sercurity are shorter.

Jill...who is waiting for April fares...

Yes...that's why we are planning to fly the 11th...a Wednesday...the week before Pres. week starts. Hopefully cheaper flights & a few days at the parks that are less crowded before all the breaker's arrive!

We are going to MCO late Sept. and I booked April . I would look every day as they change all the time.

Lol, I obsessively check every day! I am hoping that it will open at the 6 month mark...

Checking every day too.

We really should have gone with Airtran when they were reasonable, but wanted to wait for JB (DH insists on those extra inches!). Now we wait.

Going Thurs. Feb 12 (or possibly the 11th) - Fri. Feb 20th (possibly the 21st) Two days out of school is enough for our 7th grader.

We are going on vacation and hope they don't come out when we are gone with no internet access. :headache:

Thank you all for Flying JB!

We are currently selling thru Jan 09.. It does change frequently. but It is normaly 6 months :). You can always keep calling and asking :) But 6 months is the current set.

Buy as early as you can, as Gas is still hurting allll Airlines.

Enjoy the Flight!~ I am Jelous

As soon as they post those Feb. fares, I'll be buying!:thumbsup2

(Did anyone notice this thread was talking about LAST Febuary, not Febuary 2010?)

OP,

Good luck getting decent rates on JB from SYR or ROC. Those too are our home airports. You should give AirTran a look (out of ROC). JB has been really high out of Upstate NY lately. I was looking for late August and ended up booking with AirTran because the rates were 1/4 of the cost. Yes, we much prefer JB but, for the price, we'll survive on AirTran.

Also, I don't know if you travel this week a lot or not, but it is one of the most expensive weeks for air travel and rental cars that we have ever encounted. We travel Presidents' Week, Easter Week, a week in the summer, and Thanksgiving Week, and Pres. Week is by far the most expensive. The longer you wait, the higher the rates will go. The airlines almost always sell-out from those two small airports for that week, plus there are many years when they have become back-logged from a winter storm.

We often book our Feb. flights with whatever airline has the best rates 300 (or is it 330? as soon as we can) days in advance and have never found rates any lower.
