My son has a Senior trip planned for Disney that was originally scheduled for March. We are DVC, and have AP's, so decided that we will just meet his class there and will go at the same time.

Long story short, I booked a flight home on Jet Blue, and now the school decided to change the date of the trip from March to February!

Am I out of luck changing this flight, or is it going to cost me an arm and a leg to do so? I am so mad right now because I always go through Southwest! I saw a great fare on Jet Blue and jumped on it.

I wouldn't mind it if I could cancel and leave the $$ in holding for another trip, but it looks like I have to pay a $75 change fee per person even if I do that?

Has anyone ever had to cancel or change on Jet Blue?

That's pretty much it. You can change for a fee starting at $75. Its actually generous compared to other airlines. Those range from $150-$200 regardless of travel dates or cost of your ticket. Sw is the only major airline in the us that I know of that doesn't charge a change fee.

I've only flown southwest too and thankfully I only booked my return flight on JetBlue because I had to change my dates both ways!

I needed to change my dates because of free dining. However the great price I got from JetBlue flew out the window when I had to change my dates. Not only was I changed 75 extra each, the new flight cost me an extra 23 on top of that:scared1: I'm a family of 4 so that hurt.

Thankfully even with the flight costing me a lot more than expected, free dining still saved me over 1000 so it was worth it. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure there is no way around this fee.

Good luck.

Yup - as others have noted, you will have pay the change fee. All airlines ding you for the changes, but I think JetBlue is the most reasonable, only charging $75 if you do it more than 60 days out.

Keep an eye on those prices for the flights though, JetBlue will credit you for any price reductions so you might get yourself a nice little discount toward your next trip to make up for that fee (we decided to go a day earlier & had to pay the $75...the price dropped and we've been credited almost the full amount of that fee). Doesn't really negate the fee, but getting something back is far better than the higher fees and no credits you get from most airlines.

Yes, I did call and was told about the $75 fee. I only paid $115 for the ticket, so that is a pretty costly change for me - $225 total for the 3 tickets. (1 way only - so lucky for that!)

What I decided to do was keep checking fares and will be hoping for a $59 flight to NYC in the near future. I will still get hit with the fee, but the price difference should eat up most of it and I will not need to pay more $$.

We went to NYC in the summer and had a great time so I am looking forward to returning. The flight is only an hour from Buffalo, so a weekend trip is not out of the question and my son had a great discount through his employer on the hotel and we stayed in Manhattan for $65 a night!

I believe the credit is good for a year from the day I booked it and needs to be cancelled at least 60 days out?
