Flying Jet Blue out of Newark instead of our usual flight out of Atlantic City on Spirit. Had to be done because it was way cheaper ($971 vs $561). Coming from the south. Our flight leaves EWR at 11am. Anyone have any pointers or things I should avoid? I think I am going to pay the outrageous fee of $24/day for parking just for the convienence because travelling with DH and kids 4 and 6. Thanks for any replies!!

I have flown on JetBlue out of Newark twice. Security check in was very smooth - we had no wait at all.

Since your flight leaves at 11am, I'd aim to be in the airport area by 9am.

One thing you might want to check is the off site parking. We have used Avistar twice at Newark, and once at JFK and it has worked out great. Much easier than parking on site and taking the monorail - and less expensive. If you have AAA, I believe the rate was around $9.00 a day.

We'll be doing this again for our November trip to Disney.

Question - since you are in South Jersey, did you see what was available out of Philly? We are considering that if we can get a good deal on Southwest.

SW was running around $760. We haven't flown out of EWR since our honeymoon and kind of forgot that it could be a nightmare getting up there. But it is still cheaper even with the parking. I am going to check out offsite parking - thanks!

I fly out of Newark several times a month. Use Avistar or Vista Parking off-site. Both are very reliable.
$24.00 is for parking in the parking garage or lot connected directly to the terminals by monorail. The economy parking - with bus service to terminals - is less. I believe currently $18.00.
Myself it depends on my flight times and convenience factor. Taking the monorail directly to the terminal is a time and hastle saver.

Here is another vote for avistar. Its site is avistarparking.com and they usually have coupons online. I have also flown Jet Blue many times out of Newark and love them. My best advice is that if you want a snack get it before security because there is only a pizza place and they have a limited number of breakfast items. Any beverages must be consumed before the security checkpoint!!! I am sure you will have a great trip!

We used to fly southwest out of Philly but lately have been using Jet Blue. We have used Avistar and also Park2Go. Check out this site for info and coupons. www.longtermparking.com Click on New Jersey but also click on avistars logo beneath thats as well. The kids will enjoy the TV and so will you.
