Basically this is how I see it. You can be sexy WITHOUT being slutty. Their is a difference. Jessica, however, is not acting upon the difference. She does look great, you are right. But she can look great in anything, sweatpants even! What makes her slutty is how she acts with her sexiness. And gyrating and wearing the tiniest amount of clothing possible is down right slutty. I cannot stand the music and the artists that are possible these days. What happened to people being popular because they are actually good not just look good, and what happened to people ACTUALLY playing instruments! AHH i hate pop stars.

I think the video is HOT! However, I do wish it hadn't come out right when I found out I was pregnant and my tummy is starting to get all poochy ! DH taped it for me (a hardship for him, I know). What great inspiration to stay on a diet and get the baby weight off!

I think she has a great voice but she sings in such an affected manner that it really gets on my nerves.

Daisy Duke never, never would have acted like that in the series. Okay, she wore some revealing clothing, but she didn't go around gyrating like a slut. Let's face it, if she had, Uncle Jesse would have grounded her for life!

Also, I thought Jessica Simpson was supposed to have a strong Christian background. Now she's doing what amounts to soft-core porn. What a hypocrite!

I agree with this statement. I'm disappointed in the transition she's made. She started out very strong in advocating her belief system. However, on a 20/20 type show (it was that one, 60 minutes, dateline of one of those), her father accused Christian label executives of being distracted by her breasts as the reason she did not pursue making Christian music. How incredibly insulting. And she used to talk a lot about the Bible, and then on her show she laughed at how little she knew. Not knowing the Bible well is one thing, and it wouldn't be an issue for me had she not used her Christian faith to set her apart initially. She never swore - now she swears frequently. In her show, she popped out of a cake in leather and did a sexual dance for her husband in front of lots of people with very minimal clothing. I just see a lot of inconsistency and frankly what appears to me as a sell-out. She may never believed those things or was finding her own belief system at the time, but I wish that if that were the case, her Christian beliefs and her virginity would not have been used by her manager (aka Dad and former pastor) as selling points to get her "out there" in the music industry.

It frustrates me that she used to profess such strong beliefs and now utilizes her sex appeal to sell records. I don't think she's especially talented, but any talent she may have gets lost in her discarding her beliefs. IMO, I think she's a worse role model than Christina or Brittney because she professed a belief in one thing and then seems to have abandoned it as her success has risen. She used to NEVER even show her navel, let alone wear a leather bustier (sp?) and shake her toosh around the screen. She does have a beautiful body, but if I were here, I wouldn't want to be oogled by tons of guys, and if I were her husband, i wouldn't want countless guys oogling her either.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I wanted to verbalize that I agree that this video underscores why I don't think she is a good role model. I don't mean to take this discussion off topic and I don't mean to insult anyone, but her video (which I have seen) drives home why I just feel discouraged when I read or hear about her.

I enjoyed the video and Jessica's version of the song and the dancing.

This was a big departure for her. She says she's come into her own and has gained confidence that she didn't had before. She worked very hard for that body and she is in character in this video. I guess the director had decided to make DD more sexy and modern.

Even though this video is quite sexual and I wouldn't want my DDs to see it, I still like Jessica and up to this point thought she was a good role model in that she was a virgin till marraige so I'm hoping this might be a one time thing. It's quite a change for her so some are surprised.

Hopefully this isn't a trend she'll continue. I still don't think this video and how she looks in the video is as bad as Christina's "Dirty" video!

Some here are being quite judgemental and cruel, IMHO.

Can I insert a thought here? Yes, she is young and has a great body. Sure she should be proud of it. But do you really have to be half naked to be sexy? No, you don't.

I LOVED Jessica when she first came out. I don't now. Her voice has changed and not for the better

All I know is that video inspired me to increase the number of crunches and time on the ellipitical. So I guess she is a role model in that video.

I think she butchered the song but she didn't do anything myself or many others I know wouldn't do if we had the body and the opportunity to do so.
