Hello Everyone...
I am not actually getting married at Disney (although I would love too!!) although we are going there for our honeymoon. There would have been no way I would have ever been able to convince DF to get married there.
The honeymoon was our compromise. He likes Disney ok, but he doesn't get my obsession.
Paul actually proposed to me the day we were leaving for Disney (December 22, 2006).
It was very sweet. We had surprised my daughter with a trip to Disney for Christmas and we gave her a scrapbook I had made about an hour before the car service came.
I was so worried that somehow she knew but she was so surprised. I was feeling very giddy...Nickie had just found out we were going and was totally surprised and we were leaving for Disney in an hour. Paul came up to me as I was walking out of the computer room and I said, "Wow, she was really surprised." And he was like, "yeah are you?". Me, totally unaware, said "Why would I be surprised, I knew we were going to Disney". And he holds up the ring and says, "Are you surprised now". It was perfect.
So I hope you guys don't mind me sharing since I am not an official Disney bride. (I think I might have shared various little things before but never all in one place) My DF is a typical groom and is probably tired of hearing me talk about the wedding.
And whenever I show him anything, mostly I get whatever you want honey. He comes well trained.
So please feel free to offer comments, advice, etc. My matron of honor has been great but she is so busy with work and my two bridesmaids (my sisters!) live in different states.
I had to remove the picture of my dress....I found out my fiancee likes to read my posts. He hasn't seen the dress yet....cause I caught him in the act...but I'm not taking any chances! =)
And the shoes...
I had to pick out my shoes a lot earlier than I probably would have because they needed my height measurement with shoes to order the dress becuase of the detail in the train. I definitely chose comfort over style.
I really wanted to have some sort of theme...but my sister did a Cinderella theme for her wedding and I didn't want to copy and hurt her feelings. I almost did something Minnie and Mickey but even that seemed to close for comfort so we chose something simple...flowers. We are going to name each table after a flower and the centerpieces are going to be vases filled with the flower to match the name. Instead of number, we bought seed packets to match the name of the tables that we are going to put in the holder where the number would normally go. I love this idea, although when I shared it with DMIL (my future in laws are some of the nicest people I have ever met so I feel very fortunate after reading some the stories here) sort of laughed so I am not sure what to think! The seed packet thing was actually DF idea and so far we are sticking with it.
These are the bridesmaid dresses...or the back of them. The only picture I coudl find on line was this. The front if beautiful too but I forgot my camera the day we picked them out. We also got these from Macy's Bridal Salon.
Here is the flower girl's dress...
These are more than likely the favors we are going wih...
And here is the save the date we picked out...
And the unity candle...
And here is our happy family at Chef Mickey's on Christmas Day.
That is about all I have planned so far. Of course we have major things done like the DJ, the photographer, the florist, the hall, etc...but I thought they might find it weird if I took their picture. Our engagement pictures came in on Friday and we pick them up this Friday. I can't wait, I am so excited.
Thanks for reading!
