Planning a trip in early Nov, and I am worried about Jersey week. Should I be?

We were there in 2016. Compared to our previous visits (typically the last week in Oct) I found it to be really crowded. It certainly was not summer crowds but it was more than I was used to. 2016 was also the election so I think even more schools had off. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to go then again but given the choice I would go in Sept instead.

We were there during the last part of Jersey week this past November, Nov. 10-14. It was crowded but not unmanageable. The problem was the constant MMVCP that made MK very crowded on the non-party days. We also went this past March during spring break, and that was much worse! Before that, we were exclusively summer vacation trips, which were also very crowded. Honestly, no time is a great time to go other than September now, but then you risk hurricanes. But I would go again during Jersey week over either spring break or summer vacation, if that helps ease your mind!

We are currently looking forward to our third Jersey Week in a row this coming November. We have no other trip to compare it too.

2016 - first trip. heard it would be crowded but could not believe my eyes. we had three anytime fast passes for each of our MK days so that helped.

2017 - second trip. obviously the crowds didn't scare us away. since we knew the lay of the land a bit better, we were better prepared. the 7 am MK opening on a party day was the BEST. we hit RD each morning and took an afternoon break and returned if we wanted to.

2018 - future third trip - cannot wait!!!! it's a great time of year weather wise. it's fun seeing all the xmas decorations. good planning and you will have a great time!

We were there Nov 10 - 14th this year. In addition the the end of Jersey Week, it was also the last weekend of F&W. Epcot was insane. I think if you can go mid-week, and avoid the weekends, you might be better off.

Happy planning!

Thank you all for your help. It has made me feel a lot better about our choice.

We've been 3 times during "Jersey week" and are scheduled to go that week again in 2018. I was VERY worried the first year about it, but it wasn't that bad. Busy, but if you plan, totally manageable.

We found it to be just fine. Nov is THE BEST time to to Disney IMO. I love the weather, the holiday decorations. It is such a wonderful time to go. You will see some Jersey folks, but we found them to be great!

When exactly is Jersey week usually?
Usually the first full week in November. It includes Election Day, and then the Thursday and Friday are days of NJ Teachers Convention. Since most public schools get those 3 days off, people head for Disney for the week, knowing kids only miss 2 days of school.

It was very crowded in 2016. I think Jersey Week, National Election Day, first or second Christmas Party, last week of Food and Wine, the F&W marathon and Veterans' Day on a Friday made for the perfect storm. We had a great time but it was crowded.

I went during Jersey Week this year and it wasn't bad. Saturday Veteran's Day weekend plus Jersey weekend was kind of bananas at Magic Kingdom, but I think it's manageable overall!

We were there for Jersey week last month. I didn't notice a big difference in the crowd level. I think it was perfect timing because we got to enjoy the first weekend of MVMCP and the last weekend of Food and Wine! It was great!

I’ve gone the last two years. This year was definitely worse. Stayed at Coronado and one bus trip to Epcot, it was just me and then seriously the entire bus filled to standing room only with some group from NJ. I’m not some delicate flower but the swearing and attitude I could do without at WDW. Parks were slammed and I’m over the whole thing. Backing up my trip next year two weeks prior to avoid the circus.

We've been there 3 times since 2002, this year the most recent. I think concern is overblown, wouldn't hesitate to go then again. Hit a park at RD, use FP+ and you'll do fine. Our benchmark is the first week in March, our old 'usual' time, Spring break at my university and that week is/was more crowded IMO.
