Jersey Shore on MTV

So, I know I am way too old to be so excited about this, but I can't wait to see the new shore Jersey Shore on MTV. It's on this Thursday night at 10! Anyone else planning on watching?

I will!!! Two of my favorite True Life episodes on MTV is the "I'm Getting a Summer Share" and the other one which is something like "Jersey Shore". I love the preview of the metro guy "fist pumping". I will surely be laughing through most of this!

I don't really understand why people are getting so up in arms about this show and representing Italian New Jersey-ians. I have lots of Italian New Jersey friends. A few really do act like that but most don't. I'm sure most of educated (and by educated I mean with common sense) America would know that the people on the show do not represent ALL Italian New Jersey/New Yorkers. My New Jersey friends can't wait to watch the show too!

I think the show was causing some issues because they were referring to Italians as "Guidos".

As an Italian from Northern New Jersey .... I will be watching!! I know my state has a certin reputation but I couldn't care less. This is a TV show. I'm sure it's somewhat staged and "loosely scripted" as well. I think it's going to be a good laugh. We have a beach house in Spring Lake, which although it isn't near Seaside Heights (where the show is filmed), it borders a similar town. We see these types of people all the time. Most of the people featured on the show are young adults who take pride in being an Italian New Jerseyian, and live up the sterotype. They are certainly not the majority of the population in NJ, and people know that. Again, this show is for entertainment. I, for one, am not taking this show seriously.

Thank goodness not everyone from Jersey is like that.. I can't imagine how anyone would get married. I wouldn't want to be married to someone who thought they were prettier than me.

I grew up spending my summers (living in No. Jersey) at the Jersey shore all my life, as a kid on family vacations and as a teenager. I'm curious, I must admit...

I live at the Jersey shore but won't be watching this as i don't have television! My dd in college said there was a show about a really obnoxious guy who rented a house and hung out in Seaside. Will this be anything like that show?
Don't know what i'm going to do in January when 24 starts back up.

As a Jersey Shore girl, I'll be watching (and laughing) the entire time... Everyone on the shore is annoyed that they aren't actually representing the real locals...

But benny-watching is one of my favorite activities in the summer, so I have a feeling I'm gonna love this show, haha

I can't wait for the show to start. It seems like the previews have been running forever. I was wondering if it was Seaside Heights...that's where MTV filmed previous Jersey Shore shows.

We vacation at the Jersey Shore every summer, so it is fun to watch. A guilty pleasure, I guess.

Lol! I think only NJ or close proximity people know the term 'Benny'~ my DH uses the term sometimes outside of NJ and people look at him like "what"?
