Jersey break 2009?

I know that the New Jersey/New York/Boston folks have a break in April sometime. I am trying to figure out travel dates and would like to avoid the crowds brought in during this break. Anyone know when that is for 2009?

New Jersey school districts vary. Some have Easter week off. Where my sister works, they have President's week in February and then whatever week is 8 weeks from then.

It's November when all New Jersey public schools are closed for teachers convention. (I think the first Thursday/Friday of the month)

Thanks! I was there last April for work and we conflicted with the New England break folks which made it more crowded and I would like to avoid that. Maybe it was just Mass. and I somehow thought it was greater New England?!?

Jersey week is always the first week in Nov. All schools are closed Thursday & Friday. But some schools also close Tuesday of that week for Election Day. That's why many people will just take the entire week off. A lot of people just go for a long weekend Thur-Sun. So it get's busier as the week goes on.

I was there this past Nov and it was not that bad. But it did seem busier at the end of the week. We did not wait long for rides and parade spots were not difficult to get. I would have no problem going this week again.

Now to just sit and wait for the deals to come out.

Both the February Break and April Break in Mass always begin on the two Monday holidays: Presidents Day and Patriots Day. This year Patriots day is on April 20th so we have that week off.

In my Northern NJ school district Spring Break is from March 30 through the first week or so of April. Jersey Week, as it is known to us DISers, is during NJ's Teacher Convention. That is always the very beginning of November.

I am good now gang...thanks! It was Patriot Day break apparently that I was thinking of from last year. We know when that is now so we are good to go ) Thanks for all the help!

FYI...colleges & uni have the 3/15 week off for 2009.....
