Jerks at MGM Parking

Gollly!!! Had to park with the rest of us riff raff and ride the tram into the park. How common! Probably took an extra 3 minutes to get into the Park.
What a way to ruin a vacation. Hope your analyst had a viable solution to
your well earned depression. Kicking the dog might help.:cool1:

It brings to mind an aside about the Hong Kong Disneyland CM's whom Disney brought to WDW for in-park training.

They had MANY of these kids, all of whom could speak English... up to a point.

They were training them to interact with guests on all the WDW attractions, (some of them had speaking roles like the greeters who have spiels like, "Welcome to Muppetvison 3D, in a moment, the doors on your right will...") and that was OK on most...
BUT... they put some on as Jungle Cruise Skippers (!)

:rotfl:

Oh, I can just imagine that . . . I feel bad for the people who hadn't ridden the Jungle Cruise before and had no idea what was going on!

You have my permission to feel bad for ALL of us, newbie or veteran guests, AND the hapless Hong Kong trainees!

wow. i cant believe they made you park with the rest of us people. you must be really, really upset. it must have ruined your whole day. it obviously did by the tone of your post. i am so sorry for your awful, awful situation. and to top it off the cms were actually illiterate. you should not have to put up with this. it is an outrage. i mean, think of all the tragedy in this world, death, disease, war, etc. and this really ranks right up there with all of them. i admire your guts to post this. it takes a brave person to use such offensive language, and disparaging words about the workers, but with the gravity of the situation, i believe it was warranted. thank you for bringing this to our attention. i may never park at mgm again, and maybe if enough of us follow through, the higher ups will get the message, and fire all of those cms that you refer to in your post. that will show them for forcing you to park in the dreaded "hole".

Helloooo...has anyone else noticd that Hockeytchr has not replied since the first post. It is as if he is at home laughing at us for all the craziness in this thread.
Plus he should take his own advice from under his name:

Hockeytchr
Go for it, have fun, and relax

Let's all move on as we will ever get this time back anyway! :grouphug:

I don't blame you for being mad!! I would be furious too!!! Something you got for free not being usable... what did they think not giving you 100% of their attention? Did they think the other guests were more important? Just to show them, I don't think I would go back!! That'll serve them right!!!
:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Breathe in, breathe out. Let's remember it's a parking lot. They're not known for employing rocket scientist. Let it roll off.

I don't understand why people have such higher expectations from Disney than other places.... lets see.... yesterday at the bank the teller shorted me $60.... I didn't swear at her.... I asked her to fix it... then Burger King gave me a vanilla shake when I clearly ordered a strawberry one.... does that mean I should write a nasty letter to the company.... I asked them to replace it which they did.... everyday we deal with large corporations whose job it is is to provide customer service in one form or another to us.... if we used foul language at them everytime they did not do it exactly as we planned boy that would be terrible.... did I let these two incidents ruin my day.... nope ... will I continue to freqent my bank and Burger King.... yup..... yes I know we are paying a high price for a vacation.... but please.... calm down and don't let such little things ruin your day.... life is to short to get worked up about little things like that.....

LOL! But in defense of parking lot employees, I think I would really stink at that job! I would get all flustered and have cars running into each other, I'm sure of it! :rotfl: It's good to know your own strengths and weaknesses!

depending on the time of day you got there, there was a good chance the area was full. it is spring break and the Studios has such a small parking lot. In fact they have booted all the cast members from television lot (cast parking) to another location so guests can park there instead.

This is VERY likely the case this week. One of the downsides of travelling at the busy times is that the AAA parking fills up early in the day and stays that way til mid-late afternoon ....

This has happened twice to us at MGM (Hollywood Studios). Both times we were told that the AAA parking was full. It was frustrating, however i just kept in mind that it is not a guaratee. It was free with my package so its not like i had to pay for it and then couldn't use it. Actually if you get stuck parking all the way to the end of the row, it's not much of a conveneice, especilly now that they closed off the access to just cross the street. Now you have to go around. So sometimes its faster just to park in one of the other sections.

The blue line is for handicapped parking ;) and AAA is based on availability. So sorry you had to park w/ everyone else:eek: that must have been terrible for you!

My dh is disabled and have had to park w/everyone else several times too due to the cm's but you know what, didn't ruin my day:confused3 actually, they let us park on the very end and we stepped right onto their tram and it took us closer than if we parked in the handicapped lot to begin with.

AAA Diamond Parking isn't a promise, it's a perk and it's subject to availability and blackout dates.

Random (vs. accurate, but I will try to count next time) figures: If there are 50 AAA Diamond Parking spaces at DHS-formerly-MGM, and 75 Guests show up in the first hour with Diamond Parking passes, they're not all going to be able to park there. Supply and demand.

And, yeah, some people pay for these nontransferable cards on e-bay.

If its a perk why are you upset over it?

What the F...... sorry I am still fuming over the illiterate people working at MGM's parking today. I have a AAA diamond pass and the idiot at the "toll to the troll" payment booth had no clue where to tell me to go. I followed the blue lines like all other parks and when I reached another attendant he didn't even look at me to see that I wanted to ask a question. SO I had to park in the hole like everyone else and not once did any "Cast Member" offer to tell me where the AAA section was. I am VERY DISappointed in these "Cast Members" and I made that clear to Disney Officals as well. So anyone who reads this and drives to MGM (Hollywood) Studios..........beware of these people. They have almost ruined my faith in Disney at this point.

Hockeytchr

They have almost ruined your faith in disney at this point? Sounds like you have many issues with disney?

I totally agree. Plus why would parking ruin your day I dont get it

I thought katieelder was joking about people buying Diamond passes off of Ebay, but apparently she's correct--I found several for sale while trying to figure out when the 2008 blackout dates were.

Not sure why anyone would think it would be worth it to buy them when there are trams available and the Diamond lots are limited, but who am I to tell people what to waste their money on?

To the OP, the blue line is for Handicap Parking.

The Green line is for AAA Diamond parking.

AAA areas can often fill up, and they aren't necessarily the "best" places anyway, it is often more convenient to park and ride the trams.

If its a perk why are you upset over it?

I don't think she's upset about anything.

Are you confusing her with the OP who I think maybe was just in a bad mood about it and venting a little and now we are all just making too much of it.

And in the process, I learned something I didn't know. I never heard of this pass. Interesting.
