We watched it same-night last night. (We normally watch Bones same-night and watch Jericho next-night.) It was a good episode, but I'm not really getting into it, as I have "gotten into" some of the other new shows. I really don't care much about any of these characters (yet).
The fallout from the bomb was heading towards the town as part of a rain storm so everyone got into shelters. The real fallout shelters were a mess having not been maintained so part of the town ended up in a mine outside of town. They dynamited the entrance to seal it off. Once the danger has passed, the rest of the town is suppose to go out there and dig them out. Yeah.
The cons on the prison bus dressed up like deputies and picked up Jake's old girlfriend who ran out of gas on her way to pick up her fiancee in Wichita. They all ended up at the deaf girl's farm house where Jake's old g/f (can't remember her character's name) figured out what was going on and tried to get help. Jake to the rescue. He shot one of the bad guys and she shot the other one. They all went into the house, sealed it up and waited for the rain to bring the fallout.
The new guy in town who says he was a cop but seems to know more than Einstein, found an old radio and copied down the Morse code someone from out there was sending. At the end of the show he was putting push pins in a map of cities that got bombed. He used up a lot of push pins.
There were other smaller sub plots (the mayor collapsed, the geeky kid and the queen bee girl got together because they both lost their parents, Jake and the teacher on the bus are getting vibes) but that's the general plot line for last night. HTH.
I was making fun of dh when he put this show on tivo. I was like ugh another one of those freako shows that you watch.
Well I watched the first show and really tried to not like it but I did... very much so. So I was actually excited when it was on last night. I was also on the edge of my seat. My only worry is, how long can a show like this go? Doesn't seem like something that could last 10 seasons, kwim?
