Jen's Journal.....Baby Steps to a new me

Oh Jen,

Honey, you are a sweet and beautiful person! :grouphug: Mr. Right is out there and you will find each other some day. I remember my college days and let me tell you, the choices of guys were slim pickings indeed! I found my Mr. Right in high school, but most of my friends didn't find their Mr. Rights until after college. You will find the right guy Jen! I just know it! :grouphug:

I hope you have a great day today, Jen! :sunny:

you guys are the best--i could not do this without you all..the weather today is HORRIBLE..took m e1.5 hours to make a 40 min trip home from school...so bad out there..i cant go to curves, bc i have to babysit early bc of the weather, but im hoping to get in some treadmill time....thanks os much guys..i know you are right,,its jut depressing when all my friends have steady boyfriends, get flowers for vday, blah blah blah--but itll be worth the wait ! :)

Hi jen,

I hate long commutes. I hope you get to have some treaddie time. I also hope the kids behave.

Take care,
Beth

Hi, Jen! Glad to see you are still in the challenge this week! You're not even on my team and I will be sad if you get voted off anyway! I hope you are having fun with this week's challenge. I am having a good time with it. Our team has finally come together for one of the challenges. We weren't completely united on the last 2 tasks and I think that was our main problem. We are really working as a team now and it is so much better.

Anyway, I just have to comment on your guy situation since I am 24 and feel I can relate to you somewhat. I got married a few months shy of 19 but I can tell you that I dated nothing but losers until Scott. My advice...don't look too hard. It seems (and yes, I know that this sounds like corny advice that your mother would give, but it seems to be true.) like the right guy always comes along when you least expect it. I'll give you an example based on my relationship with Scott. I met him when I was 14 (and had moved in with my dad for a few months) and I had an instant crush on him. Well, my brother told him I liked him and after that he turned into the biggest jerk! I rode the school bus with him and he literally made me feel like crap day after day. I learned to hate him! Well, I moved back in with my mom and forgot all about him. I started dating at 16 and dated probably 20 guys (casually...nothing too serious) that all turned out to be toads and not Prince Charmings. I then decided that there were no guys out there worth dating and decided to put dating on hold for a while. About that time I moved back in with my dad. I was about 17 and 1/2. I went to my dad's church and there was Scott! Suddenly all of the resentment I had built toward him came rushing back. I really did not want to like him. But he talked to me for several weeks and he had completely changed. He was 19 now and much more mature. I couldn't help but fall for him. We started dating a couple months later and got engaged 6 months after that. We were married 13 months after we started dating and have now been married for going on 5 1/2 years. He has been the best husband a woman could ever want and he will be a great father I am sure. The point is I wasn't looking for anyone and there he was. And it was someone who I swore I would never date at that! So I believe you will find Mr. Right when you least expect it. And if I were you I would definitely focus on your dreams until then. That is the one thing I can say about getting married so young. I put a lot of my dreams on hold. I don't regret it at all, but do think it is good if you can finish college and stuff first. Okay, that was a long enough post so I'll wrap up now! ;)

Hey, Jen...just noticed that your team won this week! Congrats! My team came in 2nd so I am still pretty happy about that. Well, I need to finish my individual project that is due tomorrow. Hmmm...I may not be around after this week but it was fun anyway!

hi everyone--tasha--thanks! this is the one week i actually did my individual challenge-- ithought it was pretty funny LOL
Im feeling really sick from yesterday still--after the numbing meds wore off, my back is hurting..the worst is the itching...i have the stitches in for 10 days--blah what a pain..

i wanted to share a story with you guys--i told you about my brothers best friend steve going to iraq--well his family is not around here so we are taking him out alot till he leaves ( hes like my brother, love him to death)..tonight we went out and teh restaurant overheard us talking about him leaving for iraq in less than 3 weeks and after our meal, brought out a choc . cake with an american flag and sang "for hes a jolly good fellow"to him..it was totally unexpected by him and he teared up, which made me cry,,then everyone in my family and whoever saw us was crying..it was so sad...but then , the rest of the night, people kept stopping at our table to shake his hand and hug him ...some said thanks, some said god bless--it was so emotional..
hes sleeping over tonight and i just cant stop thinking that hes leaving in 17 days..im so scared for him and so happy that he had tonight--i know that it meant alot to him..thanks for letting me share
