Hi Beth and Kim-
Classes are okay i guess...the science ones seem easy so far, it just makes for a long day --science from 8am-330 is not my idea of fun!!
The public speaking class is okay, im still not thrilled with it, but i have to give my first speech tomorrow night, so ill see how that goes!
My weight is a bit up, but i had alot of water today, so hopefully its just because of TOM..My dr appointment is the 13th so im hoping then ill have the all clear to start working out again, or he can give me some different meds..

Other than that, things are going okay..This weekend is the Kride in alyssa's honor--we will be leaving saturday morning and coming home late sunday night...im looking forward to what will be a bittersweet weekend!

Hey Jen,

Sounds like your body needed some rest this weekend! Don't ya just love when you can sleep 10-12 hours? My DDs still sleep about 10-12 hours per night while I'm lucky to get about 6-7. It's my fault though... I'm too busy watching TV to go to bed early.

When is your CT scan? Please let us know how that turns out for you.

I'm sorry to hear that your summer school schedule is so packed. Did you say your science class is 7 and 1/2 hours long?!?!?! Is that just one day per week or everyday? Do you have to do this all summer?

I bet the K Ride will be bittersweet this weekend. That is so nice that you and your family continue to stay in touch with Alyssa's family and that you are doing this in her memory. Our thoughts and prayers are with Alyssa's family and you and your family. Please let us know how the weekend goes.

Take good care of you, sweetie! It sounds like you have a lot going on right now so be sure and take some time out just for you.

its been a strange and blah day/night...Today would have been my aunts birthday--she died in 1998..
Its just been one of those "be blah and feel sorry for myself days"--i hate these days! at least its almost over!

TGIF! (well i guess its saturday now!)
its 1am, and i have to be up at 645! and of course, here i am, not tired!
Tonight was fun, i ended up just going to my friends house and me, her and her 2 sisters played games (taboo, scattegories, pictionary)..just a fun, corny night!

Were leaving my house by 8 tomorrow morning to start the trek to massachusetts...Ill be with my dad for a meeting for 2 hours in PA then we will meet up with mom and brotehr and drive the rest of the way.Im kind of nervous about this weekend and i nkow its going to be bittersweet...i guess im just afraid to cry, im honestly thinking about not going, but i know i have to. dont mind my blabbering -ill shut up!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, Jen. I'm sorry your going through this. You definitely should go (and I know you will). I know this is so hard for you, but just think about Alyssa and how happy she is looking down on you and your family. You've been so strong throughout all of this...and I know you'll be fine. It'll be good for your family and Alyssa's family for you to be together and talk about your time and memories of Alyssa.

Hi Kim-sorry about the random call today! Thanks for checking in

it was an INCREDIBLE weekend!!! It was very hard and there were many tears shed, but we also had alot of happy moments and we made a lot of good friends. Alyssa's family was so nice and we enjoyed spending the time with them, and we are planning on going back again for a longer visit..
Last night we ended up watching a movie of Alyssa and looking through pictures..We got to see her room, which was pretty emotional, but it was so cool.
Today, we went to the actual Kride event..This was amazing!! there was a 100, 50, 25, and 10 mile ride, so before each one went, they dedicated it to alyssa and alyssa's mom/sister got to cut the ribbon. My brother did a great job and ended up finishing 2nd of the 10mile riders--he is aiming to do 25 miles next year! The weather ended up being good--a bit rainy on and off, but nothing too horrible. We got to hang out with her family and friends and they just accepted us as family...

Your pictures are wonderful! I am so glad to hear that the weekend went well for you. I knew that it would probably be very emotional. What a blessing for Alyssa's family that you and your family could be there to support them for the K Ride. Way to go to your brother! Second place is awesome!

im so happy we got to know alyss, even if for such a short time! The next couple of weeks i will be working on my brother's birthday present, a big frame filled with pictures of him and alyssa, as well as some pics from the kride..I think i am going to tmake a copy of it for myself as well. Ill have to take pics to let you guys see when im done!

It has been announced that 170,000 dollars were raised from the kride! t hat is amazing!!!!! im very excited about that!

Well, im here, icing my ankle b c im a bit of a clutz!!! i have to set up for the kids graduation at work t onight and then ill be home!! ill catch up on journals this w eekend i hope,,i wont be home much!
I have babysitting friday and saturday..a picnic saturday night..then sunday i am going to see a certain DISer named Kim

Hi everyone-
Well, i have finished my brothers birthday present as well as the copy for myself..I know you cant see the pictures too good, but it will give you an idea..The blue background is my brothers, and the purple is mine.
The quote "look for the girl with the broken smile" and "she will be loved" are from a song by Maroon 5..They dedicated this song to Lyss and it ended up being "her song"

Other than that, my ankle is feeling alot better..My ENT appointment is tomorrow, so i will find out if i need surgery..Im very run down lately so im hoping to get to bed early...Sorry for not checking in too much!

The ENT went..okay...He said my sinuses do look better..surgery is an option, but hte risks seem to outweigh the benefits...So i am not going to do it...i figure id rather have a few sinus infections than go through that...thanks for caring! :

WARNING--ranting ahead!
I may need a kick in the butt guys...i want to start working out again , i am not happy with the way that i look and feel .. Im just so exhausted between work and school that i dont want to move...my mini goal is to get up tomorrowa nd work out right away..im thinking the tae bo tape i have and a bit of time on the cardio cruiser..i have a huge picnic at my house next weekend and dont want to be ashamed to be in the bathing suit..im tired of being disgusted by myself and i know i need to get in gear...
