I am trying to decide between WW and JC. Could you tell me about the JC program?? I have 50 lbs to lose. Pro/Con?? Costs?? Thanks very much.

Hi TwingleMum!

I can tell you that I've done WW before and didn't have near the success that I am having with JC in my first 18 days!!! I am the type of person that "needs" the structure that JC provides by following their pre-planned menu and eating their foods! The convenience is a huge factor to me!!!

I had tried NS a few years ago, but ended up sending everything back because I could not stomach the food! I was afraid of the same thing with JC. However, I can honestly tell you that the food with JC is comparable to the meals we get around here in our local restaraunts! It seems like I'm eating all day long! For example, my menu today included: blueberry muffin, milk, & fruit for breakfast; protein bar for mid-morning snack; chicken salad, crackers, salad, and applesauce for lunch; fruit and cottage cheese for afternoon snack; meatloaf, potatoes, carrots, veggies, and salad for dinner; toffee bites for tonight's snack. I was so full from eating my dinner I could barely move!!

I've lost 17 lbs. in 18 days as of today, and I have 68 more to go. Before when I was on a diet, I would have been frustrated by now and probably have cheated off and on, but I can honestly say that with JC, I haven't been tempted to cheat one time!!! There have been maybe two or three foods I will not order again, but the majority of the food has been wonderful!

Unfortunately, I can't give you an accurate breakdown of cost since DH and I both joined and are following the program.

Good luck on whichever plan you decide on and if I can be of any help, please let me know!

Hi I just joined Jenny Craig on Sunday. I have a coupon for free membership for 30 days of the JC program. I think it is better than the 20 lbs for $20 promotion they have. I decided to do the Jenny Craig at home program and my shipment is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I do have a JC centre here in my town but they were just awful on the phone, very pushy, trying to sell me a one year $349 membership.
There program is $12 to $18 per day. If you do the at home program, you can tell them that you only want to do the $12 per day. Mine came out to be $399 (including the shipping cost) for the whole month, catch is that the shipping is expensive, $79. And I am only doing one snack per day and for dessert I am planning on buying lowfat yogurt. I did WW and also NS. I need something structured but the problem with NS was that the food started out being really good in the beginning and than I realized that most of their items either I didn;t like or gave me really bad stomachache.
I have to say also that I did JC about 11 years ago and it had really worked for me. I lost over 60 lbs and had kept it off for a number of years. So here's hoping that I am just as happy this time!!
