So you would think Disney was the 1st and only choice but DF wanted to keep our options open just in case Disney wound up being too expensive compared to a at home wedding. We figured after I went to the showcase and got an idea of price and amenities we would start researching halls by our area.

Well... When I got back from the showcase, I sat down with DF and reviewed EVERYTHING from what I saw and asked to what Diane explained to me. I let him "sleep on it" for about a week when I received a call from Diane explaining she would be our consultant if we definitely were pursuing Disney and to give her a call back. I immediately called DF and said that we should make a decision shortly because I don't want to leave Diane just hanging there. That weekend we sat down again and reviewed everything again and I said to him I completely understand if you want to continue looking here and I will call Diane back and let her know. DF then said this to me, which absolutely took my breath away and made me love him even more, ... He said "I don't think we should look anywhere else.. You have spent so much time researching Disney and it has always been your dream. I think Disney is where it will be. If we did it anywhere else, we both would constantly wonder 'What If?' and that is not how we should remember our wedding." My mouth dropped and started going REALLY? REALLY? while jumping up and down (something similar to this :yay: lol). So I called Diane the following Monday and told her we are definitely doing Disney and I look forward to working with her. Now I wait till November 9th for our 16-month mark but I have a call Diane at the end of October to review our details :goodvibes

That's awesome that he is so supportive! Men can be so surprising when we least expect it eh? Nick was the one who suggested Disney to me in the first place! And he has NEVER been! I was floored! I can't wait to hear more!

I wanted a special way to ask our bridesmaids and groomsmen to be part of our bridal party (1 maid of honor, 6 bridesmaids and 1 best man, 6 groomsmen). My main key/idea was that Disney had to be incorporated somehow...

Here are some images of how I asked my girls (sorry for some large pics):

Bridesmaid Package included: Minnie Mouse Cookie, Bridesmaid Book (gag gift) and a personalized card/poem

Groomsmen: Mickey Mouse Cookie (gotta love how guys keep it simple :rotfl2:)

Everyone loved it, even the boys :yay:!! The groomsmen cookie said "Will you be my groomsmen/best man?"

Men can definitely be surprising, when you think they aren't listening I guess they really are lol ... Wow that's awesome that he suggested it, he's just as supportive :goodvibes ...

You must be soo excited and looking forward to experiencing Disney with him for the first time! :yay:

Who was the seller for those cookies? Where did you get them! lol

Her name is Sandra and the company is called "Craft Crazie". She really is great but I think she only does local events as of now :/

Where to begin...

Well first off let me apologize for lacking in the updating area... August thru now has really flown by and those months definitely were not boring ones.

During those months:
  • My company laid off 79 people--2 of them being my director and manager and I have never been so upset and grateful in my life, leaving me the lone person in the marketing department that supports 2 other departments
  • My company also moved into 1 building (we were in 2 separate buildings for the past 5 years and they felt it was finally time to have us all together). And since I am now 1 person moving 1 whole section and 2 other peoples files/stuff on top of my own, it took me over a month to pack and now its been about almost 2 months to unpack
  • Moving resulted in me throwing out my back.. You never realize how much you actually need your back (btw).
  • OUR ENGAGEMENT LUNCHEON (will explain more later)
  • & last but not least... I contacted Diane to confirm our site visit appointment in December (DF is only able to get 1 day off in December and NEEDED to make sure we definitely had the appointment booked).. She got back to me to confirm the visit and also informed me that the Booking Guidelines have changed (AHHHHHHH! ). Yep, they no longer can hold your date until a year before the date.. Let me say I had a minor (ok, major) freak out at work. I have been counting down the days to November and now I have to wait AGAIN till March! One of my co-workers talked me off the ledge and I calmed down... I however didn't tell DF until about 2 weeks ago (I needed to process everything first and get a better handle of the situation before I explained it to him) and once again he always surprises me. His response was "Ok, well that sucks but Disney is what we want so we will just have to wait till March." (Maybe I should have told him 2 months ago when I found out...)

I definitely do not lead a dull life :rolleyes1 .. but since everything has calmed down again (fingers crossed) I will be back to updating :goodvibes

My next post will be about my engagement party but I will do that later as my lunch break is now over and definitely have to get back to work since my new office set up has me sitting right outside my VP's office....

TTFN :thumbsup2

So nice to have you back! Sorry to hear about your back! I just cracked my foot and let me tell you.....you never realize how much you need those either lol
