US? Theres a small little horse town called Wayne, IL, with an old country store, and a speed limit of 25 mph. Its about 45 min west of Chicago (depending on traffic). Anyway, rumor has it that Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn have bought 5 acres here. Hmm, wonder if its true?

Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard had a home up the street from my childhood home in Minnesota. There are a lot of movie stars that want to get out of California to raise their families so it is possible.

It kinda sounds like Mayberry. I think it would be very nice to live in a little town like that.

Wayne may be small, but its surrounded by not-so-small towns.... St Charles, Bloomingdale.

Its a nice area... cool! :thumbsup2

I grew up in St. Charles near Dunham Road, and worked in Wayne occasionally (babysitting, housecleaning). Very nice "town" and the biggest speed trap ever!!!!!!!

Pretty quiet there in Wayne besides the pull-overs. Hard to imagine the noise a couple of stars would bring. I guess they have to live somewhere.

I just texted this info to DH, who works on the south side of Elgin. He'll have to be on the lookout for them. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to see Jennifer! ;)

My DH travels for work around there-that is near Elburn and Sugar Grove right? He LOVES it there. He even talks about moving out that way...

Well it's about time those Hollywood types figured out what we already knew! Life in Normaltown, USA is way better than life in LA LA Land!

No offense to those who live in LA! I gotta give you props for surviving in that town. It's a great place to visit, but I could never live there! (and those in LA are relieved because it's too crowded there as it is, right!)

:rotfl:

Sounds like a perfect place to raise a kid! Didn't I hear she might be pregnant and I think Vince lives or lived in Chicago.

Is Vince from Chicago?

No, he's from the town of Lake Forest, Illinois. I live about 10 miles from the area and I know it quite well. It's a very well to do suburb of Chicago and it's always been a small town with "big money" people living in it. Some of the streets or blocks with mulitiple houses on it are considered "private streets" and will have signs indicating so. Outsiders or looky loos aren't welcomed too much and if you drive around checking out some of the beautifull homes, chances are you're going to be pulled over by the Lake Forrest police dept.

I have done a few carpet cleaning jobs in Lake Forrest and they have some really neat old homes that are just so unique and most are just beautifull. Lake Forrest has done a good job of keeping their town a small exclusive community and it has strict zoning and a ton of regulations to live there. It's basicly a very wealthy, upper class town with few people of color, sadly. It's a pretty snooty/ritzy area and the residents aren't afraid to let you know it.

Mr T had lived there back in the mid 1980's at the peak of his popularity and one day decided to cut down every tree on his property. I'm talking about 50 or so, 100 year old trees that were a part of the neighborhood. It made all the papers and Lake Forrest passed a bunch of regulations to prevent something like that from ever happening again. Needless to say, he was unwelcomed and left town a couple years later. They damn near ran him out of town on a rail and the lawsuits were flying fast and furious. He left his house in terrible condition and the city almost bought it out and tore it down. It was bought by some investor and restored to it former pre "Mr T" days and is beautifull. I saw a online tour of it and they did a real nice job to it.

Sorry to ramble on but I just wanted to give you a pretty complete rundown on the area. Didn't mean to get off the subject.

Awww man, I was hoping Vince would move in next to me....

I used to clean an apartment in the castle when it was so divided. :sunny: An old lady from the Baker family lived there. She used to crack me up. Coolest place I ever cleaned. :)

Dang, that was 25 years ago....

:rotfl2: I'm from the area as well and this is exactly what I think of when I think of Wayne. Their cops are super vigilant! The other town in the area to be careful of is Elburn...
