Might like to try this out next trip.

Are Sunday nights OK? Would we be OK to get a table then if we go right after IllumiNations?

Any tips?

Isn't there a CM night there? Anyone know what night that is? Is it too busy then or more fun?

Thanks!

Jellyrolls, in my opinion, is fantastic. Better than any other piano bar I have been to.

You enjoyment would depend on what you're looking for. Back in 2002, the CM nights were Sundays and I believe Tuesdays. I would assume the club was especially crowded on those nights. I think it opens at 7:00 (?), but does not fill up until 10:00 or 11:00. Cover is $6, and you can request songs (which usually people also include a tip for the players).

I personally really like it there. The pianists are very talented and play a wide variety of music. They keep their dialogue "clean," much different than other piano bars I have been too.

Of course, it is still a club, so it is smoky and people do get pretty loud and crazy near the end of the night.

For the CM nights, there will probably be a much higher concentration of college age kids there. There is usually a mix of young kids and couples, so there is always a variety in people and in dress (everything from "bar" clothes to resort wear).

(Can you tell I used to be a CM?)

You should search the boards since there have been a few posts about Jellyrolls that I have seen that may give you info that I am leaving out.

I would highly recommend it even though the drinks are definitely at WDW prices. They do not serve food, only popcorn, which is free.

We plan on visiting at least once on our next trip.

If you're really interested in a table, going after Illuminations might be a little difficult during a busy time of year.

The tables can fill up quickly, and some people go early to stake them out. There aren't that many tables -- I want to say like 15 or 20, although it's been a while since I was there. There are, however, bar chairs and bars around the back, and if you wait you can usually sit down when people leave. Be prepared for the players to make fun of you for "swooping."

They have a Pat O'Brien's type hurricane drink with much less alcohol and a steep price tag. One of the guys, if he's still there, has been playing there a long time. (Roy?) He can be a little refreshingly irreverant as it gets later in the night, but otherwise it's very clean. I think most disney lovers find that to be a positive, but it also can make it a bit sterile for some. There is near zero raunchiness, so you might not have as much fun as you would if you've been to places like Pat O'Briens. Or maybe more fun; depends on what you're into.

mla, you mentioned smokey. I may be incorrect, but I thought Florida had passed a law that allowed no smoking in Bars now. (We couldn't in POR lounge last year) Is it just certain places that allow smoking? If anyone has any info on this I'd like to know, as we are headed down Saturday and don't want to be breaking any laws.

The Florida law exempts stand alone bars. (The POR lounge is not stand alone, so that's why smoking is not allowed there),

JellyRolls is definitely smoking permitted. I would not recommend it to anyone who is at all sensitive to smoke. I don't like to be around smokers, but I occasionally make an exception for JellyRolls. It's always been a fun time!

Best wishes -

You can still smoke in Jellyrolls because the are not a restaurant that serves food. It can get very smoky in there.

I think the law is if at least 10% of the business is from food, there is no smoking allowed.

There used to be a Jellyrolls in Ybor City in Tampa and I liked that one much better. The humor was a little raunchier and Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk adheres to the Disney clean humor. Some may like that better and I'm sure they play it safe so not to offend anyone.

I'll be there in February with my father, aunt & uncle; all in thier late 70's early 80's. They are all fun loving and like music, would they feel out of place if I took them in there one night? We're staying at the BWV so it would be a handy place to pop into after dinner. I know Dad loves Off Kilter and thier music. They all like country/western music I know. If it's all young adults, they might feel uncomfortable, though. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Just give it to me straight and I can steer them clear if I need too. They don't even know it exists. Well, maybe Dad does, he's taken over my Unoffical Guide and is becoming quite knowledgable in the ways of WDW. This is the man who practically faught me kicking & screaming when I took him last year.LOL

It really depends on the night - and the crowd. It certianly wasn't all young people there the night we went, LOL! The music played depends on the requests from the crowd - those who tip the most get their requests played first.

My advice is to just go and give it a try!

Best wishes -
