We have been going home to the Boardwalk since 2000 and have yet to visit JellyRolls.

May do it this trip in April and I'm looking for the good and the bad.

thanks,

We went back when the cover was $7. I believe the cover now is $10 and it's still a lot of fun.
Don't know of any bad side.

Cover charge is now $12 per person, but it is a really great time. Try to get there before the crowds show up after Illuminations. Would be nice if they gave you a credit on your bar bill for those of us that enjoy a few (or more) drinks while enjoying the music. For those that do not run up a bar tab, it is very good entertainment for the evening for only $12.

DH and I love Jellyrolls...but with 2 kids we've only made it there twice, when we were travelling with another family.

Downside: They don't serve food here--but they give you free popcorn. If you need dinner, eat before.

Upside: Lots of fun and good music!

Is the Atlantic Dance Hall next door? I think I heard it closed.

Atlantic Dance is still open. I have given it a try twice and just couldnt enjoy myself. I always have a great time at Jellyrolls.

just got back from BWV and atlantic dance is not closed. WOW Jellyrolls is now at $12 cover:eek:

We keep meaning to go - our next trip home will be to Boardwalk, though. Perhaps that means I will get to try out Jellyrolls ;)

We have gone once, paid $20 cover at the door (for two).

Drinks ARE expensive, it can get crowded, and I can see how it would be loud for some people.

It wasn't too loud for us, the entertainment was incredible, and we really look forward to going back some time!

We went in mid-December - so the crowd was REALLY small to start with - got packed, and then cleared out about 1.5 hours later.

The entertainers are very engaging - and will not hesitate to point folks out in the crowd, so a sense of humor is necessary!

We had a blast and still talk about it!

Is Jelly Rolls a nonsmoking facility? I remember walking up to the door one several years ago and the smell of smoke was so bad I wouldn't go in. I'd love to go next trip in April, but only if its smoke free.

It's been smoke free for several years now.

The drink prices are crazy. It's good fun there but man the drinks have a high price and are a little on the week side in my opinion. This trip I am going to try Splitsville and of of the 60 OZ. cocktails

Yes, do it! We go every trip, and just took my sister and her hubby last month for their first time. They loved it, and agreed it is a must-do every time. Yes, $12 cover, but worth every penny! Enjoy!

Happiness was the day all 3 of my daughters crossed the age 21 benchmark and could join us singing away at JELLYROLLS!:yay::yay::yay:

Had a blast there with my husband, sister and my mom... age 82!

don't forget your $1.00 bills to tip the singers/piano players.

We have been there many times, enjoyed all of them. We tend to buy the drink special which has always come in a very large cup and never needed more than 1.

Thank you for all the replys. We will definately be hitting JellyRolls at least one night in April.

what would be a good time to arrive. Are any seats better than others?

We always get there earlier (7-8) so we can get a seat with a tall table near the back....just our preference. I have been there nights when by 9:00 the place is hopping and there is only standing available in the very back. I think it depends on the night, the weather, and time of year. We are going on April vacation, which we have done in the past, and it does get a bit busy by the 9-9:30 range.

My husband and I first went here on our honeymoon, as we walked by, going back to our hotel we heard the music, stopped, saw there was a cover, considered it a minute, decided to try it for one...well the next thing they were closing! We had so much fun!! We have wanted to get back every vacation since then, but with 3 kids it was very hard to do until this past summer. My oldest is now old enough to babysit, but my sister was with us and wanted to stay in. Anyway, it is still FUN!!! again we were there until way later than we planned because we were having so much fun!

The downside of jellyrolls to me is cover charges are typically charged to pay for the entertainment. Any other bar you go to, the cover charge pays for the Band, singer, comedian whatever it is. But here they charge you 12 dollars to get in then expect you tip the entertainment. (I do mean entertainment. Servers and bartenders are excluded from my statement)

To answer the Flame befor it comes. You are correct if I don't like it I shouldn't go there so I don't go. Yes you're welcome I am leaving room for other people.

No flame here. The way I look at it is you are paying for a show. I pay 6.00 to 10.00 to go to a movie th at lasts 2 hours. Feel I got my moneys worth. Pay dollars to go bowling got my moneys worth. Here I pay 12.00 to watch a 6 hour show and be entertained and not harrassed to purchase a drink got my moneys worth. BTW the tipping to the piano player is only if you request a song. The tipping amount is up to you. Normally it is $1.00. You can get into Atlantic Dance for free but so very boring. Susan
