Jellyrolls

I am looking forward to my first (and probably only) solo trip to WDW at the end of June. I've never been to Jellyrolls before and am hoping to make it there on this trip. What time does Jellyrolls open and what time does it really get going?
Any other hints for making it an enjoyable and safe evening for a solo, female traveler?

They open at 8 or 9. It gets crowded by 11, but depends on the night of the week too. Admission is 10 dollars

Of course you can go over to Atlantic Dance for free

JRs is fun and upbeat. A dueling piano bar. They have a cover of 10 dollars. I would suggest getting there by 9 in order to get a good seat. . .As a single I think I would prefer the hi top tables on the floor. Bring cash for song requests. You will understand when you get there. Its fun, but can be an expensive night.

Thanks for the responses! I'll probably try and get there on Friday or Saturday night, so I'm anticipating it will be crowded. $1 or $2 for a song request?

Supposedly the bigger you tip the quicker your song gets played. They say a twenty is the 'fastpass' of Jellyrolls. All of the times I have been they have played the same songs so in a way it seems like it is sort of predetermined what they are going to play. Certain piano players play certain genres of music and so forth, they each have their own specialty.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I went here once and will not be returning. The place is very dark, no Disney feel to it at all. And it was pretty trashy. I spotted about 3 or 4 girls with little to no clothing exposing their "goodies." And leaning up against poles making out with random guys.

Was that Walt's vision for Disney?

It is not supposed to be Disney, it's supposed to be for adults! I think you experienced an anomily because I've been there multiple times and never seen anyone making out. As for clothing, that is open to interpretation.

You can have a place for adults and still keep it classy.

I go a LOT! probably 3-4 trips a year and almost every
night of the vacation- so a tleast 30 nights at JR a year-

have I seen people a bit over the top - honestly very rarely
if they're really wasted and out of control then they're
asked to leave- it is a night club so some people where park
clothes and some people dress up-

but what it is is FUN!

I like it because it is a place for adults 21 and up
so it's nice to be on Disney property, have a few
drinks and not have to worry about being appropriate
in front of children- The piano players don't swear and
the songs are Disney squeaky clean-
if you wanted sex and raunchy go to Howl the Moon
(it's a fun place but soooo much more sexed up!)

Disney is a place with many choices, not everyone
is going to like the same thing but you won't know
unless you try it

I'll be there July 1st - 8th solo!
Doors open at 7pm and piano players start at 8pm
It gets really fun by 9pm
I've been there a lot as a solo and I'm comfortable
sitting on the rail by the bartender

I've also been there solo and never felt uncomfortable or ill at ease. It's a really fun place! I have sat anywhere ... but I prefer to get there a little before the crowd to get a table in the lower area (in front of the pianomen). I just like to be able to see them
