After viewing Illuminations during our next trip (two weeks!!) we are thinking of heading to Jellyrolls - the deuling piano bar. Has anyone done this? If we get there after 9:30 will it be too crowded to get in?

It is a fun place. I have been there a number of times with lots of folks from the boards here. Only downside is the smoke. :crazy2: Smoking is still permitted there and I can usually take about 30 minutes and have to leave.

I have stayed at the BW last 4 yrs or so and swear I was going to jellyrolls. Have passed it numerous times. music sounds great...but for some reason when I feel my room is so close to me.

and my tootsies are calling the bed...Jellyroll looses. Hoping one day I shall.

Hope you do.

sounds like a great place

Jellyrolls is a LOT of fun! I don't remember when we got there the time I visited -- it was later in the evening -- but it was pretty crowded and we stood the whole time we were there. Not sure how early you'd need to get there to get a table.

Jellyrolls is a lot of fun. I was surprised you could smoke there also & that is about the only thing I didn't like about it.

We arrived after opening also & stood at the bar the entire night. I would say to get a seat you probably have to get there about 1/2 hour before opening (I don't know this for a fact - I am guessing).

There is a cover charge also - I think it was about $8 per person, but worth it because it's great entertainment & loads of fun.

Of all the times we went, it was dead until about 9:00 pm. We went when they first opened once, and were the only people there. Not fun when audience participation helps make the place fun :rotfl: . We usually go twice on every trip.

It depends on the day you go as to whether you need to get there early for a table. Weekends are busier because locals come. Tuesday used to be really busy because it was CM free night, but from what I understand CM's get in free any night Sun-Thur now.

DW and I were at Jellyrolls on a Monday just a month ago and we didn't get there until almost 10:00 and we had no problem getting a seat. Now that's good, but sometimes the more the merrier, ya know?

For us, Jellyrolls is a must do every trip. We've never had a bad time there.

Jellyrolls is a must for me EVERY trip!! It's alot of fun and the piano players are EXTREMELY talented. As previously posted, it depends on what night you go as far as how early to get there. Tuesday nights are still the most popular weeknight and weekends draw larger crowds also. That said, if you get there at 9:30 you'll be able to get in, just might not find an open table. Also the cover charge is $8. Doors open at 7pm, entertainment from 8pm-1:30am (last call), closes at 2am.

Enjoy!!! :teeth:

Are you kidding?! Jellyrolls is SO worth it! I'm there at least once a week. It's great, definitely the best place I've ever been to.

It depends on which nights you go. Fridays and Saturdays tend to be kinda busy, with Sundays and Mondays being the dead nights. Tuesdays are the crazy insane nights because that's the standard CM night (but they get in free 7 days a week...not Sun-Thurs only because that's PI) Wednesdays and Thursdays are kinda inbetween nights, sometimes they're rockin' and other times they're not.

It's well worth the $8 cover charge, because the guys are extremely talented and know just about anything and everything.

.

Love it! I've even flown down to WDW JUST to go to Jellyrolls! No parks, just the rolls!

Beware.... Once you start going.... it's very addicting!

Hey Ivette  That pic is so not HOT! You need a HOT one of Pete! Christian's pic is cute

I know people love this place, but isn't it really just a rip off of the national chain bar called Howlin at the Moon, which has been around for awhile ? I think they are in every major city...?

I've never heard of Howlin at the Moon, but I've been to other dueling piano bars. I don't think any particular bar or chain has a claim on the concept.
