Hi Disfriends!

DH and I are going to WDW at the end of the month with my college roommate and her DH. We plan to run the RunDisney 5k and we want to have a great time while we're at WDW. None of us has ever been to JellyRolls or the Atlantic Dance Hall. We have a reservation on Sunday 11/5 at FF at 6:05 pm, and we plan to spend the evening on the Boardwalk. What intel can you share about JellyRolls and the dance hall? From other Dis posts, it looks like JellyRolls fills up fast? Do the dueling pianos play all night or just at certain intervals? Is it worth the $18 cover charge (gah! I haven't paid a cover charge in DECADES...we're old! :P) Will we be out of luck for a table if we head over to JellyRolls as soon as our dinner is done at FF?

Regarding the Atlantic Dance Hall, the WDW website has virtually no info. On 11/5, it says we can add "advanced plans" at 8 pm? I'm not even sure what this means? Is the dance hall a fun place to dance, or is it sort of lame? We all love to dance, and we're wondering what it's like? Music? Drinks? Good vibes?

Any info anyone can share would be great! Also, if there are any other "must dos" on the Boardwalk after we're done with FF dinner, we're definitely open to any ideas to make our Boardwalk night fun and memorable! Thank you so much!

I can only speak to Jellyrolls. I think you would want to arrive by 9:00pm to secure a seat which should be fine with your FF ressie. We thought the cover charge was well worth it. We went pre covid and there was a two drink minimum as well, so I'm not sure if this still exists. The performers are wonderful and we had a way better time than we expected. It made us feel young again to drink out of deposable plastic cups like we were in a college bar. HTH

100% recommend Jellyrolls, it is SO much fun! Definitely worth the cover charge. They don't start playing until around 8, but once they start they play the rest of the night. As for getting a table, it can be hit or miss if you show up much past 8/8:30. Sunday nights are cast nights, so they can get pretty crowded, but I also think they can be the most fun nights there!

Thanks, everyone, for your feedback! I'm excited to experience JellyRolls! I'm still curious about the Atlantic Dance Hall. Has anyone experienced this place recently?

I haven‘t seen Atlantic Dance with more than 10 people in the last 20-years….

Following this thread as we plan to check it out this weekend. If we make it over, I’ll share our experience. From what I saw on another site, they compared it to a wedding reception vibe. DJ plays throwback hits and the vibe is fun and a bit silly. It’s open 8 pm - 1 am, Thursday - Sunday, although it doesn’t seem to be open tonight?

It seems it’s used for functions on occasion for conventions, etc.

In the past I do not think I have ever seen Atlantic Dance crowded however there are people when it is open. I did see people going in when we have stayed at the BW. I do remember it has a small outside seating area facing the water that was nice when it was open in the afternoons a long time ago.

Atlantic Dance Hall IS catching on, on some nights. It's random, sometimes they do theme "parties" like Disney Channel music nights. It's literally maybe 100 feet away from Jellyrolls, worth walking in (no cover charge!) and checking out. If it's not your speed, just cross the street back over to Jellyrolls :)

ADH also has little balconies! Usually the music is pretty loud in there, the balconies overlook the water. Very serene and quiet. It gives the feeling of a club on the inside, but is never more than 60% full. Lol. It'd be a pretty wedding reception venue!

We always pop in to the dance hall when we stay at boardwalk and it’s usually pretty empty. If there’s conventions going on at the surrounding hotels they will have an after hours party there and then it’s fun.

@MommaKetch I'll be curious to know if you make it over to ADH and what your experience is. @aerxo17 you shared good information and gave me some great ideas. Thank you!
We have not yet made it over. I forget how wiped I am after a day in the parks. Headed to MK for HEA, so unlikely we’ll make it to the boardwalk tonight.
