Hi,
Have any of you every had problems with Jellyfish/sea lice at any of the island ports on the Western Carribean route? I noticed somebody had mentioned the sea safe lotion in a list of things to take. It's £60 to buy in the UK which is very expensive. Any ideas of costs in the US and if it's even needed?
Thanks.

Only place that we have heard of being an issue was Castaway Cay. We did the western last year and didnt have any issues at all.

We have not had an issue with it on either the Eastern or Western Carribbean cruises. I have seen it online for purchase for $14.95 US.

We were on the Western two weeks ago and swam in Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay. We had no issues! Sea lice is very seasonal. I grew up in S. Florida where it is common and our standard preventative measure was always to rinse in the fresh water shower right after swimming. It is important to run water between your swimsuit and skin. I did this with my kids two weeks ago and everyone is fine.

Sea lice is annoying but probably not worth adding stress to your trip. I worried much more about noro!

I think it is very unlikely. However, my daughter was recently stung by a jellyfish on a beach in Grand Cayman.

I'm a scuba diver and once I did notice a lot of tiny jelly fish during one of my dives in Grand Cayman. As far as sea lice I just returned from a RCCL yesterday and a few people in our dive group experienced some sea lice bites in Roatan, Honduras as we walked along the beach to the dive boat.

I've only encountered them once on Castaway Cay out of the 17 or so times I've been there. Cozumel can have them. It appears the Norte's bring them in.
